Overview<\/p>\n
\tWe are seeking a social media & marketing intern to support the planning, creation, and management of digital content across our social media platforms. This role is ideal for a creative and motivated individual seeking hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and audience engagement. The social media & marketing intern will collaborate closely with the communications and programs teams to amplify Worldreader\u2019s impact and storytelling online.
\n\tThis is an unpaid hybrid internship based in Nairobi, Kenya.<\/p>\n
Scope of Work<\/p>\n
\tAssist in creating and scheduling engaging content for Worldreader\u2019s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
\n\tSupport the development and execution of social media campaigns aligned with organizational goals.
\n\tMonitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and support community engagement.
\n\tTrack and analyze social media performance metrics and prepare basic reports.
\n\tCollaborate with the Programs and Communications teams to collect and share impact stories, photos, and videos.
\n\tSupport content creation, including graphics, short videos, and captions.
\n\tAssist in maintaining a content calendar and ensuring timely posting.
\n\tConduct research on social media trends, best practices, and audience preferences.
\n\tSupport digital promotion of events, campaigns, and partnerships.<\/p>\n

Deliverable<\/p>\n
\tSubmit a final report and\/or presentation culminating your experience in front of Worldreader staff at the end of the internship.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Desired Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tMust be a Kenyan resident and an undergraduate currently enrolled at a 4-year university, or a postgraduate studying Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related field.
\n\tMust work from the Kenya office at least once per week.
\n\tStrong written and verbal communication skills.
\n\tFamiliarity with major social media platforms and trends.
\n\tBasic skills in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Suite) preferred.
\n\tCreative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
\n\tAbility to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
\n\tMust have own computer and reliable internet connection.
\n\tCommitment to the time frame.<\/p>\n
