The role holder will be responsible for the execution of effective and efficient operational performance of the branch office in line with the Company\u2019s policies and practices that govern internal processes.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tAssess the proposed risk within set standards to accurately determine the risk the business is taking.
\n\tProcess underwriting transactions such as new business, renewals and invitations, declarations, endorsements, reconciliations, cancellations etc. in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
\n\tHandle queries on insurance products, making proposals on suitable products.
\n\tLiaise with intermediaries and direct clients on issues in relation to their policies to provide correct information to the client.
\n\tObtain relevant details from clients and agents to enable provision of quotations.
\n\tPrepare quotations on GIS system in association with Branch Manager.
\n\tEnsure proposal forms, Know your Customer (KYC) and all underwriting documents are completed for all new businesses.
\n\tTimely debiting of all business and issuance of policy documents within the underwriting timelines.
\n\tPremium collection and issuance of premium payment receipts.
\n\tDaily banking of premiums received and maintaining proper records of the same.
\n\tFollow up on debt collection\/ premium payment.
\n\tMaintain a good working relationship with intermediaries, clients and service providers.
\n\tEnsure no hanging transactions.
\n\tReceive claims documentation and follow up for processing\/ payment.
\n\tKeep detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
\n\tMaintain high standards of customer service by responding to clients enquiries (walk-in clients, telephone and emails) and efficiently address their issues.
\n\tManaging petty cash by ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and following up with finance on payment to service providers.
\n\tCarry out enquiries on GIS system.
\n\tCarry out office administrative duties.
\n\tApply the credit control policy and ensure that debit\/ credit notes raised are raised in the correct month to facilitate collection.
\n\tAccounts reconciliation \u2013 Follow up and requisition of agents and brokers\u2019 monthly statements, commissions and reconciliation.
\n\tEnsure proper filing of client information both manual and electronic for easy retrieval of documentation when required.
\n\tAssist the Branch Manager in the branch operations
\n\tEmbrace governance requirements with respect to KYC\/AML\/Data protection requirements per governing Acts.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in marketing, Insurance, Finance, Economics, or other business- related discipline
\n\tProgress towards Diploma in Insurance (ACII or AIIK)- at least 5 papers or equivalent<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\t3 years\u2019 experience in the insurance industry or financial services industry<\/p>\n
