About the Role:<\/p>\n
\tThe Internal Investigator will be responsible for overseeing all BURN internal audits and forensic audits to ensure compliance and detect potential issues proactively. The role holder will also be responsible for conducting thorough and confidential investigations into fraud, misconduct, and other malicious activities within the organization.
\n\tThe role holder will ensure that all investigations are conducted in a fair, objective, and professional manner, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.<\/p>\n
Duties and \u00a0Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Conduct Investigations:<\/p>\n
\tLead and manage internal investigations into allegations of fraud, misconduct, and other unethical activities.
\n\tGather and analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and document findings.
\n\tCollaborate with relevant departments to ensure comprehensive and accurate investigations.
\n\tInvestigate items raised by risk and audit<\/p>\n
Reporting:<\/p>\n
\tPrepare detailed investigative outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
\n\tPresent investigation results to the Senior Management Team
\n\tMaintain accurate and confidential records of all investigations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Compliance and Ethics:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure all investigations comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
\n\tAdvise on improvements to policies and procedures to prevent future incidents and enhance compliance.
\n\tPromote a culture of integrity and ethical behaviour within the organization.<\/p>\n
Skills and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Criminal Justice, Law, Business Administration, Accounting, or past relevant experience in a similar role
\n\tRelevant professional certification such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certificate of Insurance \u2013 Fraud Investigator or equivalent is an added advantage
\n\tMinimum of 5 years of experience conducting financial investigations, forensic audits, and field-based investigations.
\n\tStrong knowledge of investigation techniques, auditing standards, legal requirements, and best practices.
\n\tExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
\n\tHigh level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
\n\tExceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
\n\tAbility to work independently and manage multiple investigations and audits simultaneously.
\n\tFamiliarity with the regulatory environment in BURN countries of operation is a plus.<\/p>\n
Additional Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tWillingness to travel within the countries of operation as needed.
\n\tProficiency in relevant software and investigative\/auditing tools.<\/p>\n
