Job Summary\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDesktop and Site Support Technician is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees for a range of hardware and software related systems.
\n\tResponds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users, which includes trouble shooting, fault rectification and problem escalation.
\n\tProvides effective and timely resolution of users\u2019 problems, queries or complaints. Assists in hardware and software evaluation and recommends upgrades or improvements to IT infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAssist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.\u00a0
\n\tVirtual desktop troubleshooting for remote staff.
\n\tPerform laptop, desktop, printer and hardware setup and configurations.\u00a0
\n\tWork with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
\n\tWork with Help Desk and Operations staff as a level 2 resource to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
\n\tInteract with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered, client server environment.
\n\tEnsures desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
\n\tTrain and orients staff on use of hardware and software.\u00a0
\n\tRecommend and \/ or perform upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.\u00a0
\n\tWork with procurement staff to purchase hardware, software and related supplies.
\n\tAssess functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
\n\tAssist infrastructure engineering and support resources in maintaining LAN\/WAN and telecom systems, including physical installation and other support as required.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\t0 to 2 years\u2019 Experience in desktop support role
\n\tDegree in IT or related field\u00a0
\n\tExtensive experience supporting end users in a geographically dispersed technology environment.
\n\tStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.
\n\tStrong verbal and written communication skills in English (business fluent) Organization sensitive and able to maneuver between various \/ conflicting interests.
\n\tHaving the drive to realize objectives and combine various goals as a personal ambition.
\n\tGreat ability of thinking outside set paths and able to produce several solutions to different situation
\n\tHighly skilled in presenting data, creating, and presenting PowerPoint presentations to global audience and industry leaders<\/p>\n
