Main purpose of the position:<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with sales team for scope details of new enquiries and final details of confimed jobs
\n\tDesign Steel Framed Structures for a diverse range of applications using latest and available Technology in Structural Design & analysis.
\n\tSpecify in the design process the appropriate materials based on structural specifications and codes of practice.
\n\tLiaise with detailers in the preparation of drawings for internal & external use<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas:<\/p>\n
\tMeet departmental KPIs \u00a0like Material efficiency (Kg\/m2 ), design efficiency (hrs\/design, designs\/day) & design errors (% of order) as required.
\n\tMeet required design timelines as agreed with the line managers to ensure customer expectations are met.

\n\tGenerate accurate bill of materials for pricing purposes.

\n\tGenerate complete design calculations\/analysis reports for all confirmed jobs.
\n\tLiaise with detailers in the preparation of drawings for internal & external use.
\n\tCheck details on drawings to ensure compliance with all design specifications.
\n\tDo random quality checks\/inspection for jobs under fabrication whenever required
\n\tTake part in the coaching and training of the new recruits in the department to ensure continuous improvement.
\n\tAny other related\/relevant duties as shall be assigned.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Qualifications and experience required:<\/p>\n
\tDegree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution.
\n\tComputer Literacy (MS Office)
\n\tExperience in the functional use of design spreadsheets and \u00a0Computer Aided Design Software e.g AutoCad, Prokon, Materseries & StaadPro.
\n\t2 \u2013 3 years of working experience in Structural Designs and related projects.<\/p>\n
