Job Purpose<\/p>\n
The Human Resources Officer (HRO) will be primarily responsible for\u00a0accurate and compliant payroll management, while supporting broader HR functions including employee relations and labor law compliance. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong payroll expertise, ensuring all employees are paid correctly and statutory obligations are met without exception.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Payroll Administration (Core Function)<\/p>\n
\tManage\u00a0end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
\n\tCalculate salaries, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and statutory contributions.
\n\tEnsure full compliance with tax regulations, pension schemes, and statutory bodies.
\n\tReconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly.
\n\tMaintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
\n\tPrepare payroll reports for management and audits.<\/p>\n
Statutory Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure timely remittance of PAYE, social security, and other statutory deductions.
\n\tKeep up to date with changes in labor laws and tax regulations.
\n\tSupport internal and external audits related to payroll and HR compliance.<\/p>\n
Employee Relations & HR Support<\/p>\n
\tHandle disciplinary processes, grievances, and employee queries (especially payroll-related).
\n\tProvide guidance to staff on payslips, deductions, and benefits.
\n\tEnsure HR policies and procedures are consistently applied.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Industrial Relations<\/p>\n
\tSupport engagement with labor authorities and trade unions where necessary.
\n\tAssist in resolving labor disputes and ensuring compliance with labor regulations.<\/p>\n
Vendor & Records Management<\/p>\n
\tManage third-party payroll providers or HR vendors where applicable.
\n\tMaintain accurate employee records and payroll documentation.
\n\tDraft employment contracts and HR-related correspondence.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Education & Experience<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in human resources, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
\n\tMinimum\u00a03\u20135 years\u2019 experience in payroll administration\u00a0(mandatory).
\n\tProven track record of handling\u00a0full-cycle payroll independently.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills<\/p>\n
\tStrong understanding of payroll systems and HRIS.
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of statutory deductions, tax calculations, and compliance requirements.
\n\tAdvanced proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting.<\/p>\n
