\tMonitor and improve P&S performance by preparing periodical reports and analysis, discuss underlying assumptions, reasons for major deviations, identify key risks and exposure and taking a supporting role in the budget, forecast and strategic processes.
\n\tTo secure a solid bedrock for finance activities in Kenya
\n\tExpected to deliver quality result in fast changing business environment
\n\tDeliver high quality set of accounting data to facilitate group, statutory and tax reporting
\n\tSupport local Finance activities and coordinate with EFO and GFO
\n\tCoordinate compliance processes in Kenya
\n\tProtect Syngenta assets in Kenya
\n\tRepresent Syngenta towards external auditors and local tax authorities
\n\tSupport the finance integration activities
\n\tEnsure compliance with the Companies Act and other laws
\n\tEnsure integrity of the countries’ compliance program with corporate and local policies and procedures
\n\tContinuously monitor emerging internal control risks and update existing controls and processes to respond to these risks
\n\tDetect and report to appropriate Syngenta management any violation or deviation from standards and practices including the code of conduct, laws and other misconduct<\/p>\n
ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/p>\n
\tLead the accounting operations process, which includes: Fixed assets, Payables, Accounts receivables and Transactions processing on ERP system, payment
\n\tPrepare and analyze Ledger Accounting, Statutory Accounting and Reporting and Tax Reporting and collaborate effectively with both Business Facing Finance and outsourcing companies
\n\tPrepare and Record relevant journal entries in local entity books
\n\tUses best practices and knowledge to improve processes\/services
\n\tSupport cost awareness and cost control throughout the organization.
\n\tContinuously improve the management reporting process, systems and formats.
\n\tMay direct and check the work of more junior team members.
\n\tTimely delivery of relevant management reports and \/or services to ensure accurate recording of all business transactions in ERP system according to the IFRS rules for group reporting and local GAAP rules for statutory reporting.
\n\tSupport continuous improvement and efficiency in relevant processes and Service Excellence
\n\tExpected to deliver quality result in fast changing business environment
\n\tActive involvement in month-end closing and year-end processes
\n\tActive communication with other departments
\n\tCooperation with auditors
\n\tBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
\n\tReconciling balance sheet ledgers to sub-ledgers on AP\/AR\/GL and clearing accounts
\n\tEnsure the basic controls are performed on time
\n\tSupport the finance integration activation and ensure activities are completed on time
\n\tPrepare necessary calculations required for legal entity integration and ensure transactions are appropriately recorded
\n\tSupport the preparation of statutory, tax reports, returns in accordance with local GAAP, Tax regulations and Group standards.
\n\tEnsure all company records are up to date in accordance with Companies Act<\/p>\n

Critical knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\/HBO or Master’s degree in economics, accounting or business administration.
\n\tProfessional accounting qualification \u2013 CPA, ACCA
\n\tGood understanding of supply and manufacturing concepts.
\n\tExcellent in English
\n\tWorking knowledge of SAP.
\n\tMaster in Excel, data-mining.<\/p>\n
Preferred knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tMasters Degree in Accounting, Finance or Data Analysis
\n\tSAP and SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud) knowledge<\/p>\n
Critical experience:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 1 – 2 years\u2019 experience in a controlling function, preferably within the Flowers industry or a logistic- or manufacturing environment.
\n\tMinimum of 2 – 4 years\u2019 experience with accounting and reporting within a complex organization.
\n\tExperience of working and interacting across multiple locations and cultures.
\n\tExperience with SOX, IFRS and financial Compliance.<\/p>\n
