Our client, an international organization is looking to recruit an Agricultural Market Specialist for 8 -months period.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tMonitor developments in the agricultural market in both countries and identify the areas of greatest interest to client\u2019s companies in the sector.
\n\tIdentify local stakeholders\u2014businesses, cooperatives, public agencies, universities, and research centers to foster collaboration and
\n\tleverage resources for sustainable market development \u2014that may be interested in partnering with client\u2019s companies.
\n\tConduct a census of all companies dealing in agricultural machinery, equipment, and products, with particular attention to importers.
\n\tSupport activities in cross-border cooperation (Kenya & Tanzania), the organization of exploratory missions, bilateral meetings, and promotional activities aimed at client\u2019s companies in the agricultural and agri-food sectors.
\n\tExcellent skills in statistical programs to prepare market research and contribute to the development of industry-specific market studies and analyses.
\n\tRespond to requests from client\u2019s companies, trade associations in the sector and provide technical assistance and guidance to local partner organizations to enhance productive capacities, quality standards and facilitate cross-border trade.
\n\tDevelop constraints analysis to determine specific value chains with intra-regional and international export potential.
\n\tDevelop and support scaling of in-country farmer sourcing models and enhanced value addition and agro-processing capabilities\/technologies of SMEs.
\n\tContribute to knowledge management and initiatives by documenting best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches in agricultural market systems development.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Economics, Statistics or related fields.
\n\tProgressive experience gained over several years in market analysis of sectors such as agro-industry, deployment of new technologies in agriculture, and agricultural machinery.
\n\tMinimum of 5 – 8 years\u2019 experience working in the above stated role.
\n\tA creative thinker with strong interpersonal skills.
\n\tStrong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and generate actionable recommendations.
\n\tExceptional time and deadlines management skills; ability to lead, organize, prioritize, and manage a team to drive goals and objectives.
\n\tAdaptable and flexible; responsive and resourceful in a fast-paced business.
\n\tSuperior verbal and written communication skills.
\n\tSpeak English and Swahili languages fluently.
\n\tKnowledge of Italian language an added advantage.
\n\tKnowledge and experience working with associations, government entities, export and import promotion companies a plus.
\n\tExperience in statistical packages such as SPSS, Advanced Excel, MATLAB, STATA, R-SOFTWARE.<\/p>\n
N\/B: A work permit to work in Kenya for Expatriates and non residents is required.<\/p>\n
