\tThe General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to internal controls, and timely execution of month-end and reporting processes.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tMonth-End Closing & Ledger Management<\/p>\n
\tEnsure all general ledger accounts are accurately posted, updated, and reconciled in a timely manner.
\n\tPerform month-end closing activities in line with reporting deadlines.
\n\tTrack, analyze, and report on all expense items to ensure completeness
\n\tand accuracy.<\/p>\n
Internal Controls & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEstablish, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
\n\tMonitor compliance with financial policies and procedures.
\n\tIdentify and mitigate risks related to financial reporting and operations. 3. Tax Compliance
\n\tSupport and oversee tax planning activities in line with applicable regulations.
\n\tEnsure accurate and timely preparation and filing of tax returns.
\n\tMaintain compliance with local tax laws and statutory requirements. 4. Financial Reporting & Statements
\n\tPrepare and present accurate financial statements, including: o Trial Balance\u00a0o Income Statement (P&L) o Balance Sheet o Cash Flow Statement
\n\tEnsure all reports comply with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
Management Reporting<\/p>\n
\tProvide timely and insightful financial reports to management.
\n\tAnalyze financial performance and highlight key variances or trends.
\n\tSupport decision-making through clear and accurate financial data.<\/p>\n
Audit Coordination<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate internal, external, statutory, and financial audits.
\n\tProvide required documentation and support to auditors.
\n\tEnsure timely implementation of audit findings and management letter recommendations.<\/p>\n
Additional Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tSupport continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
\n\tPerform any other duties within the accounting function as assigned.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\n\tProfessional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
\n\tMinimum of 3\u20135 years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role.
\n\tStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
\n\tProficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
\n\tHigh level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.<\/p>\n
