\tAre an active journalist in print, radio, TV, or digital media
\n\tHold a valid\u00a0Media Council of Kenya\u00a0accreditation
\n\tHave\u00a05+ years\u00a0of environmental journalism experience
\n\tCan deliver compelling stories on short notice<\/p>\n
What you will do as an Environmental Media Champion:<\/p>\n
\tConduct\u00a0field visits\u00a0to Kenya\u2019s Key Biodiversity Areas and file stories for publication or broadcast
\n\tProduce in-depth feature stories on biodiversity and conservation themes
\n\tCover Nature Kenya events \u2013 press conferences, international days, community forums, and policy dialogues \u2013 and publish or file stories
\n\tPost social media content that amplifies biodiversity and conservation stories
\n\tDevelop original investigative or explanatory story scripts in consultation with Nature Kenya
\n\tEngage with and profile\u00a0high-ranking decision-makers, change agents, and policy processes, from parliamentary committees to EIA reviews, to connect conservation science to public accountability
\n\tMonitor the media landscape\u00a0and flag significant environmental stories to Nature Kenya for response or amplification
\n\tParticipate in Journalist Forum meetings\u00a0and mentor fellow environmental journalists
\n\tSubmit performance reports\u00a0documenting stories produced, audiences reached, and impact achieved.<\/p>\n
