Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tVerifying, approving and recording laboratory findings;
\n\tSupervising the disinfection, washing and sterilization of apparatus; and maintaining equipment and reagents;
\n\tArchiving specimens of medical importance for reference;
\n\tPreparing periodical reports;
\n\tPreparing requisitions for procuring laboratory equipment, chemicals, stains and reagents
\n\tMaintaining laboratory registers and recording analyzed samples;
\n\tSupervising laboratory staff and students on attachment
\n\tScreen and assign work load, plan, prioritize and assign tasks and projects;
\n\tDetermining safe procedures, controls and implementing standard safety procedures;
\n\tParticipating in budget and procurement plan preparation;
\n\tPreparing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures;
\n\tPreparing work plans and periodical reports; and
\n\tIdentifying training gaps of research scientist, laboratory Technicians and Technologists and recommending appropriate interventions
\n\tWriting manuscripts as required by the laboratory leadership<\/p>\n
Vacancy Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s Degree in any of the following fields; Medical Laboratory Sciences Laboratory Sciences, Analytical\/Applied, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Sciences\/Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology or Biotechnology or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mandatory
\n\tMasters of Science degree in any of the following disciplines: Medical Parasitology and Entomology, Clinical Chemistry, Haematology\/, Medical Microbiology, Clinical Cytology Histopathology, Immunology, Epidemiology, Laboratory Management, Molecular Sciences\/Biology, Virology, Mycology, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mandatory
\n\tSupervisory Course not lasting less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mandatory
\n\tProficiency in Computer Application;\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Mandatory
\n\tProficiency in Bioinformatics;\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Skills & Competencies
