Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and maintain a company-wide risk management framework
\n\tIdentify, assess, and monitor operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks
\n\tConduct risk assessments for new products, markets, and partnerships
\n\tDesign and implement mitigation strategies and internal controls
\n\tProvide regular risk reporting to executive leadership<\/p>\n
Regulatory Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with local and cross-border regulatory frameworks
\n\tStay updated on fintech and payments regulations across markets
\n\tAct as the primary liaison with regulators and supervisory bodies
\n\tManage regulatory filings, reporting, and audits<\/p>\n
AML \/ KYC \/ Financial Crime<\/p>\n
\tLead AML\/CFT, KYC\/CDD, and transaction monitoring frameworks
\n\tOversee suspicious activity detection and reporting
\n\tImplement sanctions screening and fraud prevention controls
\n\tContinuously strengthen financial crime risk controls<\/p>\n
Market Assessment & Licensing<\/p>\n
\tAssess regulatory requirements for new and existing markets
\n\tIdentify licensing needs and regulatory obligations per jurisdiction
\n\tLead end-to-end licensing processes with regulators and internal teams
\n\tEnsure ongoing compliance throughout market entry and operations<\/p>\n
Policies, Controls & Governance<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and enforce compliance policies and procedures
\n\tConduct audits, gap assessments, and ensure audit readiness
\n\tMaintain strong documentation and internal controls
\n\tEmbed compliance into product, operations, and partnerships<\/p>\n
Data Protection & Privacy<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR and local laws)
\n\tOversee data security frameworks and controls
\n\tConduct data protection impact assessments where required<\/p>\n
Partner & Market Compliance<\/p>\n
\tSupport onboarding of banks, PSPs, and partners
\n\tConduct due diligence on partners and counterparties
\n\tEnsure compliance readiness for market expansion<\/p>\n
Training & Culture<\/p>\n
\tBuild and drive a strong compliance culture across the organization
\n\tTrain teams on regulatory requirements and best practices
\n\tProvide ongoing advisory support to internal teams<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\t5\u20138+ years\u2019 experience in risk and compliance within fin tech, payments, or financial services
\n\tProven experience assessing markets and securing regulatory license
\n\tStrong understanding of:<\/p>\n
\t\tAML\/CFT frameworks
\n\t\tKYC\/CDD processes
\n\t\tSanctions compliance
\n\t\tPayments regulations and licensing<\/p>\n
\tExperience operating across multiple jurisdictions (Africa preferred)
\n\tProven track record managing regulators, audits, and reporting
\n\tStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
\n\tHigh attention to detail with strong ownership<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tCertifications such as CAMS, CFE, CIPP, or equivalent
\n\tExperience in cross-border payments or digital wallets
\n\tExposure to emerging areas (e.g., crypto, digital assets)
\n\tExperience in a high-growth or startup environment<\/p>\n
