\tReporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer and maintaining a strategic line of communication with the CEO, the\u00a0Senior Environmental & Social Manager\u00a0is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive E&S Management System across all operational regions at Sistema.bio.\u00a0
\n\tThis role ensures robust E&S risk identification, impact mitigation, operational safety, and compliance with both international standards (IFC Performance Standards, World Bank EHS Guidelines) and local regulations. With a strong focus on manufacturing, product lifecycle, installations, field operations, and supply chains, this role plays a critical function in protecting people, the environment, and the company\u2019s reputation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll be in charge of:<\/p>\n
\tE&S Management System (ESMS):\u00a0Lead the management and the continuous improvement of a global Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS) aligned with IFC and ISO standards across all operational regions.
\n\tE&S Risk Assessment and Impact Management:\u00a0Continuously manage and update E&S risk and impact assessments across sites and processes, ensuring effective mitigation measures, regular monitoring, and ongoing compliance with international standards.
\n\t\u00a0Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:\u00a0Ensure robust HSE systems and protocols are in place across field and manufacturing operations, driving compliance and continuous improvement in safety performance.
\n\tMonitoring, Evaluation & Reporting:\u00a0Oversee internal monitoring systems and reporting frameworks to track E&S performance, incident management, and operational improvements.
\n\tProduct and Manufacturing Integration:\u00a0Collaborate with product and manufacturing teams to integrate environmental and safety considerations into design, production, and lifecycle processes.
\n\t\u00a0Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Response:\u00a0Lead the development and implementation of emergency response plans and training to ensure readiness across all facilities and teams.
\n\tStandards Compliance and Audit Readiness:\u00a0Ensure full regulatory and compliance by leading audits, due diligence processes, and timely resolution of findings.<\/p>\n
More about YOU:<\/p>\n
\t7\u201310 years of relevant experience in Environmental and Social management, with extensive experience in stakeholder engagement.\u00a0
\n\tExperience overseeing Environmental and Social topics acrros multiple regions\/countries within a global organization.\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tProven expertise in applying global E&S standards (e.g., IFC PS, World Bank EHS Guidelines, ISO standards).
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of E&S management topics, with the ability to lead a company-wide ESMS, including health & safety, environmental management and impact monitoring.
\n\tExceptional collaboration skills, with experience across cross-functional teams, investors, and stakeholders.\u00a0
\n\tProven ability to work with technical experts to develop and implement an ESMS aligned with international standards.
\n\tStrong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and operational pragmatism.
\n\tAbility to influence and guide decision-making at the senior management level.\u00a0
\n\tFluency in English required. Spanish, Hindi or Swahili is a plus.
\n\tAbility to travel regularly to our regional offices and field locations where we operate.<\/p>\n

\tThis is a full-time position ideally based in Kenya. Exceptional candidates within the Europe or Africa time zones will also be considered.
