Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tThe Revenue and Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for billing and collection of all revenue streams as well as accounting and reporting in compliance with the relevant IFRS. The role also manages internal controls, supports audits, budgeting and forecasting and drives cash collection efforts in line with company policy.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tOversee end-to-end billing processes for all revenue streams ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with IFRS 15.
\n\tConduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy of service billing and contract alignment.
\n\tTrack and reconcile deferred revenue, ensuring accurate timing of recognition and alignment with contracts.
\n\tManage the Accounts Receivable function, including AR aging reports, reconciliations and payment allocations.
\n\tLead collection efforts by preparing weekly\/monthly reports, following up on overdue accounts and executing escalation protocols (notices, pre-bans, disconnections).
\n\tMonitor customer payment behaviour and recommend\/write off bad debts quarterly in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
\n\tCoordinate credit risk assessments and ensure all finance-related onboarding documentation is complete.
\n\tEnsure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT and WHT filings, monthly reconciliations and internal ledger updates.
\n\tSupport budgeting, forecasting and management reporting; prepare audit-ready revenue and AR documentation.
\n\tRecord and defer commissions in line with contract terms and expected revenue.
\n\tPerform any other tasks assigned by management.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Competencies<\/p>\n
Hard skills<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in accounting, finance, commerce or a related field from a reputable institution.
\n\tA Certified Public Accountant (ICPAK) or ACCA member in good standing.
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of IFRS; familiarity with US GAAP is an added advantage.
\n\tMinimum of 8 years\u2019 experience in a busy finance environment, with a strong focus on billing and collections.
\n\tExpert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel will be an added advantage.
\n\tHands-on experience with QuickBooks and Oracle Billing Module.
\n\tLeadership and project management skills will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
