Job Objective: The Management Accountant will be responsible for the accurate accounting and reporting of fixed assets, preparation of high-quality management accounts and statutory financial statements, and the maintenance of strong accounting controls across the WIOCC Group. The role will contribute to informed decision\u2011making through robust financial analysis while ensuring full compliance with IFRS, IAS, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.<\/p>\n
Reporting Line:\u00a0Director, Accounting and Tax<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0Financial Compliance and Governance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure full compliance with IFRS, IAS and Group accounting policies across both local and consolidated reporting
\n\tCoordinate the adoption and implementation of new or amended accounting standards, including assessing their impact on the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Comprehensive Income
\n\tMonitor and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and tax requirements across all operating jurisdictions
\n\tMaintain a strong internal control environment and support continuous improvement of financial governance frameworks<\/p>\n
Management Accounts and Financial Reporting<\/p>\n
\tEnsure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of financial data recorded in the accounting ERP system
\n\tPrepare monthly management accounts, including detailed variance and trend analysis, with clear and insightful explanations for material movements
\n\tAnalyse cost of sales performance by comparing actuals against budgets and forecasts.
\n\tPlay an active role in month\u2011end and year\u2011end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
\n\tCoordinate and prepare statutory financial statements for WIOCC Group subsidiaries<\/p>\n
Fixed Assets Accounting<\/p>\n
\tAccount for fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, revaluations and impairments in line with IFRS and internal policies
\n\tCalculate, review and post monthly depreciation and amortisation entries
\n\tReconcile the fixed asset sub\u2011ledger to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
\n\tPrepare fixed asset schedules and supporting documentation for management reviews, internal audits, and external audits
\n\tMonitor Capital Work\u2011in\u2011Progress (CWIP) to ensure timely and appropriate capitalisation
\n\tCoordinate physical verification of assets and inventory, including asset tagging across jurisdictions<\/p>\n
Audit and Assurance<\/p>\n
\tAct as a key liaison for external auditors, ensuring the provision of complete, accurate and timely information
\n\tRespond to audit queries with well\u2011reasoned explanations, financial interpretations and corrective action plans where necessary
\n\tSupport internal audits and ensure timely implementation of agreed audit recommendations<\/p>\n
Accounting Policy Development<\/p>\n
\tSupport the development, documentation and ongoing maintenance of Group accounting policies, manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
\n\tAssist in embedding consistent accounting practices across the Group<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tPartner with senior management and business unit leaders to provide financial insights that support strategic and operational decision\u2011making
\n\tEngage effectively with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators and advisors, as required<\/p>\n
\u00a0Other Duties<\/p>\n
\tPerform any other responsibilities assigned by the Director, Accounting & Tax from time to time<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Professional Experience<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
\n\tFully qualified accountant (CPA(K), ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
\n\tMinimum of five (5) years\u2019 post\u2011qualification experience in a senior accountant or similar role
\n\tStrong, hands\u2011on knowledge of IFRS and IAS, ideally within a multinational or group reporting environment
\n\tDemonstrated experience in fixed asset accounting and inventory management
\n\tPrior experience in audit or advisory roles within a Big 4 or reputable professional services firm will be a distinct advantage<\/p>\n
Technical and Personal Skills<\/p>\n
\tHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
\n\tStrong analytical and problem\u2011solving capability, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
\n\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English
\n\tAbility to work effectively in a fast\u2011paced, multinational and multicultural environment
\n\tHigh attention to detail, with strong organisational and time\u2011management skills
\n\tDemonstrated professionalism, integrity and respect for confidentiality
