About the role<\/p>\n
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is one of the world’s largest humanitarian\u00a0organizations. As part of its operations in West Africa, DRC is recruiting an HR Coordinator to support country operations across the WANALA region (West Africa, North\u00a0Africa\u00a0and Latin America). This role covers the following countries: Burkina Faso, Senegal, Cameroon,\u00a0Mali\u00a0and Niger.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The HR Coordinator ensures effective and compliant HR operations in the assigned DRC\u2019s Country operations within the\u00a0WANALA\u00a0HQ Hub. The HR Coordinator provides technical guidance and support to Country Operations, helping implement HR policies and systems consistently. The role oversees HR activities, ensuring quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and adherence to standards. The HR Operations Coordinator builds HR capabilities in assigned countries and ensures the\u00a0timely,\u00a0accurate, and confidential handling of HR matters.\u00a0Ultimately, the\u00a0role supports the achievement of business\u00a0objectives\u00a0through strong, compliant, and effective HR practices across the region.<\/p>\n
If you are the selected candidate, you will work closely with another HR Coordinator (covering Colombia, Venezuela, Chad, Nigeria, Algeria,\u00a0Libya\u00a0and Tunisia) and an HR Partner, under the line management of HQ. Your main responsibilities are\u00a0but not limited to:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tProvide\u00a0technical advice and support to HR teams and country management;\u00a0
\n\tReview and ensure compliance of national\u00a0employees\u00a0handbooks, salary scales and CO policies with DRC global policies and local labour law;\u00a0
\n\tMonitor and support the rollout of global HR\u00a0policies and initiatives in assigned countries;\u00a0
\n\tConduct HR compliance audits and develop\u00a0corrective action plans with the HR Partner;\u00a0
\n\tBuild capacity of HR teams and managers on HR policies,\u00a0processes\u00a0and systems, including DRC Voices (engagement survey);\u00a0
\n\tLead or\u00a0participate\u00a0recruitment\u00a0processes for senior positions in portfolio countries;\u00a0
\n\tSupport onboarding of senior employees in country operations;\u00a0
\n\tContribute to global HR team projects and\u00a0initiatives (up to 20% of working time)<\/p>\n
Your profile<\/p>\n
To succeed in this role, you must combine strong multi-country HR\u00a0expertise, a good understanding of the humanitarian context in West Africa, and\u00a0ability to coordinate with multiple remote stakeholders.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Required qualifications<\/p>\n
\tAt least\u00a05\u00a0years’ experience in HR, preferably in a multi-country role;\u00a0
\n\tProven experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver results;\u00a0
\n\tExperience training HR\u00a0employees\u00a0and managers;\u00a0
\n\tFluency in both French and English \u2014\u00a0mandatory for both languages;\u00a0
\n\tAt\u00a0least a\u00a0Bachelor’s\u00a0degree in HR Management, Business\u00a0Administration\u00a0or Social Sciences.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Desirable qualifications<\/p>\n
\tExperience in an international humanitarian or development\u00a0organisation;\u00a0
\n\tKnowledge of labour law in Francophone West African countries\u00a0
\n\tExperience using an online system for recruitment and working with HR and\/or ERP systems\u00a0
\n\tUnderstanding of cross-cultural HR practices and challenges in field offices\u00a0
\n\tPredictive Index certification (desirable);<\/p>\n
