We are a Christian school in the education sector looking to recruit an additional Occupational Therapist. He\/She will be responsible for conducting physical assessments of children, developing and following doctor-prescribed treatment plans, assessing the surrounding classroom environment and developing additional physical rehabilitation programs.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Learner Assessment<\/p>\n
\tConduct comprehensive assessments to identify learners’ physical, emotional, developmental or social challenges.
\n\tEvaluate learners’ home and\/or work environments to determine potential barriers to independence.<\/p>\n
Treatment Planning<\/p>\n
\tDevelop individualized treatment plans based on learner assessments and goals.
\n\tCollaborate with learners, families, caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to set realistic, measurable outcomes.<\/p>\n
Therapeutic Interventions<\/p>\n
\tDesign and implement therapeutic activities to improve learners’ abilities in daily living and working.
\n\tUse adaptive tools and techniques to assist learners in maximizing functional independence.
\n\tProvide rehabilitative exercises and education on energy conservation and joint protection.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Monitoring and Evaluation<\/p>\n
\tMonitor learners’ progress and adapt treatment plans as needed.
\n\tMaintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and outcomes.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
\n\tValid registration and practicing license with the Kenya Occupational Therapists Association (KOTA).
\n\tMinimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, preferably in a school, pediatric or rehabilitation setting.
\n\tValid Certificate of Good Conduct.<\/p>\n
