Job Purpose<\/p>\n
The Account Manager \u2013 Public Relations & Events Management will lead the development and execution of strategic communications and high-impact events for client accounts across East Africa. This role is responsible for building strong client relationships, delivering compelling narratives, securing media coverage, and executing events that drive brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and business outcomes.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Strategic Communications<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement integrated communications strategies aligned with client objectives
\n\tEnsure consistent messaging across markets within East Africa<\/p>\n
Content Development & Storytelling<\/p>\n
\tWrite and edit high-quality press releases, speeches, briefs, and reports
\n\tTranslate complex technical or business concepts into clear, compelling narratives<\/p>\n
Media Relations<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media houses, bloggers, and industry platforms
\n\tIdentify media opportunities and secure impactful coverage across the region<\/p>\n
Events Management<\/p>\n
\tPlan and execute executive roundtables, stakeholder forums, conferences, and high-level engagements
\n\tManage end-to-end event delivery, including logistics, stakeholder coordination, and on-site execution<\/p>\n
Digital & Social Media Integration<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with digital teams to amplify PR campaigns and event messaging across relevant platforms
\n\tSupport content alignment across traditional and digital channels<\/p>\n
Lead Generation Support<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with outreach and business development teams to align communications and events with revenue objectives
\n\tEnsure events and campaigns contribute to pipeline development<\/p>\n
Client Account Management<\/p>\n
\tServe as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
\n\tManage client relationships, expectations, reporting, and overall account performance
\n\tEnsure timely and high-quality delivery of all client work<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Education<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5+ years of post-graduate experience in PR, communications, events management, or account management
\n\tExperience working across multiple markets within East Africa is an advantage
\n\tExperience in using AI tools to analyse data and generate reports<\/p>\n
Core Expertise<\/p>\n
\tProven track record in media relations and securing high-quality coverage
\n\tStrong writing and editing skills across multiple formats (press releases, speeches, reports, etc.)
\n\tDemonstrated experience in planning and executing high-level professional events
\n\tSolid understanding of social media as a communications and amplification tool
\n\tExperience in B2B sectors, particularly technology and\/or energy, is preferred<\/p>\n
