About the role<\/p>\n
\tBurn is looking for a\u00a0Head Chef who will oversee all kitchen and cafeteria operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, cost control, and operational efficiency. The role also involves leading kitchen staff, managing inventory and procurement processes, and driving continuous improvement across food service operations.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tOversee overall kitchen operations and ensure efficient coordination of all activities.
\n\tEnsure consistent food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation across all meals.
\n\tDevelop and implement menus that are cost-effective, nutritious, and aligned to operational needs.
\n\tEnsure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
\n\tControl kitchen costs and ensure operations remain within approved budget limits.
\n\tMonitor food preparation processes to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
\n\tMonitor inventory levels and oversee procurement planning and stock control.
\n\tProcess SRQs and PRs using Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
\n\tPrepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on food cost, consumption, and wastage.
\n\tIdentify opportunities to reduce food wastage and improve operational efficiency.
\n\tLead staff training, supervision, and performance management.
\n\tEnsure proper planning and allocation of kitchen resources across all shifts.
\n\tHandle escalated operational issues and resolve food quality or service complaints.
\n\tMaintain and improve the cafeteria\u2019s operational standards and service quality.
\n\tEnsure proper use, maintenance, and safety of kitchen equipment and facilities.
\n\tDrive continuous improvement in kitchen processes and productivity.
\n\tOther duties assigned by management.<\/p>\n
Skills and Experience<\/p>\n
\tDiploma\/Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field
\n\tMinimum 2\u20135 years\u2019 experience in a commercial\/institutional kitchen
\n\tExperience managing high-volume food production
\n\tStrong leadership and team management skills
\n\tKnowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
\n\tBasic experience with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics NAV)
\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Excel<\/p>\n
