Roles & Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\u00a0Leadership and Management:<\/p>\n
\tSupervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate the performance of nursing staff.
\n\tEnsure appropriate staffing levels and effective scheduling to provide optimal patient care
\n\tIdentify, and develop competence development and training plans for staff.
\n\tConduct, regular team meetings and provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
\n\tDevelop and implement policies and procedures in alignment with best practices and organizational goals.<\/p>\n
Patient Care:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure high-quality, patient-centered care is delivered consistently.
\n\tAddress patient complaints and concerns promptly and effectively.
\n\tOversee patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure smooth and efficient processes.<\/p>\n
Operational Management:<\/p>\n
\tManage the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit or department.
\n\tMonitor and manage departmental budgets, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
\n\tEnsure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.<\/p>\n
Quality Improvement:<\/p>\n
\tImplement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
\n\tCollect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.<\/p>\n
Collaboration<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
\n\tServe as a liaison between nursing staff and other hospital departments.
\n\tParticipate in hospital committees and task forces as needed.
\n\tTake up hospital administrative shifts and coverage.<\/p>\n

Qualifications, Regulatory & Legal Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMust be a qualified Registered Nurse (KRN\/RM\/KRCHN\/KRNM\/KRNMPH\/BSCN).
\n\tMust have a higher diploma in a nursing field or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a relevant basic degree from a recognized institution.
\n\tCertification courses on management or leadership are an added advantage.
\n\tMust have a valid licensure from the Nursing Council of Kenya.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tMinimum twelve (12) years of nursing experience with three years in a leadership or managerial role.
\n\tMust have a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification\u00a0
\n\t\u00a0Previous leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.<\/p>\n
