Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Financial management & controls<\/p>\n
\tManage day-to-day financial operations including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and expense tracking.
\n\tMaintain accurate financial records and ensure documentation is audit-ready at all times.
\n\tImplement and monitor internal controls and compliance processes.
\n\tSupport procurement and contracting processes with the necessary financial checks.<\/p>\n
Budgeting & reporting<\/p>\n
\tSupport development of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
\n\tPrepare monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and cashflow tracking.
\n\tEnsure timely and accurate donor financial reporting.<\/p>\n
Grants & donor compliance<\/p>\n
\tTrack grant expenditure against approved budgets and flag variances early.
\n\tEnsure compliance with donor rules, reporting timelines, and allowable costs.
\n\tSupport proposal budgeting and cost narrative development.<\/p>\n
Audit & risk management<\/p>\n
\tSupport audit processes and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
\n\tMaintain financial risk registers and support fraud prevention measures.<\/p>\n
Cross-functional collaboration<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with programme teams to align budgets with workplans.
\n\tSupport coordination between finance and programme delivery for compliance and reporting<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
\n\tMinimum 3 years of experience in financial management, preferably in an NGO or donor-funded environment.
\n\tStrong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and donor compliance requirements.
\n\tAdvanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
\n\tSharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
\n\tAbility to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
\n\tProfessional accounting qualification (CPA\/ACCA \u2014 partial or complete).
\n\tExperience working in multi-country or network-based programs.
\n\tExperience with grant management and audit processes.
\n\tExposure to youth, climate, agriculture, or international development programs.<\/p>\n
