ROLE PURPOSE:<\/p>\n
The English Language & Literature Teacher will\u00a0plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English Language & Literature lessons in alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Competency-Based Education (CBE) curricula, ensuring each student achieves academic excellence while upholding the Academy\u2019s mission and values.<\/p>\n
ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/p>\n
Planning and Delivery\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons adhering to\u00a0\u00a0CBE\u00a0standards.
\n\tCollaborate in designing\u00a0unit\/lesson plans,\u00a0course outlines, and records of work.
\n\tIntegrate\u00a0technology, active learning strategies, and\u00a0assessment-driven instruction.
\n\tImplement\u00a0flipped learning\u00a0for home assignments and support intervention programs.<\/p>\n
Assessment\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDesign\u00a0IB\/CBE -aligned formative\/summative assessments\u00a0and provide timely feedback.
\n\tGenerate\u00a0academic progress reports\u00a0and administer examinations effectively.
\n\tProvide effective verbal and written feedback to learners in good time.\u00a0
\n\tContribute to setting and moderating formative and summative assessments in\u00a0line with IB\/CBE expectations.\u00a0
\n\tAnalyze learners\u2019 progress to inform future teaching and intervention.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Classroom Management<\/p>\n
\tManage teaching time through punctual and consistent attendance and observance of school timetable.\u00a0
\n\tManage students\u2019 behavior in the classroom, on school campus and on Academic trips.\u00a0
\n\tUtilize resources efficiently to enable effective outcomes.\u00a0
\n\tUse Academy Learning management system effectively.\u00a0
\n\tDevelop and maintain a stimulating teaching environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Other Professional Responsibilities\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tUndertake pastoral duties, including that of a homeroom tutor so students are adequately supported through their school journey.\u00a0
\n\tParticipate in, organize and guide co-curricular and life skills activities.\u00a0
\n\tActively contribute to department engagements and pastoral responsibilities\u00a0
\n\tTake ownership of own professional development and participate in CPD provided by the Academy.\u00a0
\n\tEstablish and maintain collaborative working relationships and relevant liaison and communication with staff and other stakeholders.\u00a0
\n\tAttend to duties assigned.\u00a0
\n\tContribute to the development of whole school culture.\u00a0
\n\tSet objectives in line with the school\u2019s appraisal system.\u00a0
\n\tMaintain a vibrant and rich professional portfolio tracking individual progress\u00a0
\n\tUndertake any other additional tasks as may be reasonably required by the Head of Department, Head of Academics and Director of Teaching and Learning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\tBachelor\u2019s degree in education in the subject combination\u00a0
\n\tMust be TSC registered.\u00a0
\n\tAt least 5 years teaching experience or equivalent in a comparable institution.\u00a0
\n\tAbility to foster a supportive environment for learners and educators to realize their full potential and willingness to work collaboratively.\u00a0

\n\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
