Through presence, professionalism, warmth, and knowledge, the Driver Guide transforms excursions into meaningful memories while ensuring the highest standards of safety, comfort, and emotional luxury.<\/p>\n

Guest Experience & Guiding<\/p>\n
\tCurate and facilitate exceptional guest excursions and outdoor experiences with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
\n\tDeliver engaging interpretation of wildlife, ecology, history, culture, geography, and conservation throughout all experiences.
\n\tPersonalize experiences according to guest interests, pace, age groups, and expectations.
\n\tAnticipate guest needs and ensure comfort throughout journeys and activities.
\n\tCreate meaningful moments through storytelling, attentiveness, and emotional connection.
\n\tRepresent the property as an ambassador of luxury hospitality and authentic Kenyan experiences.<\/p>\n
Excursion Facilitation<\/p>\n
\tGame drives and excursions in surrounding conservancies and reserves including Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Samburu National Reserve, Solio Game Reserve, and Aberdare National Park.
\n\tNature walks within Mount Kenya Forest.
\n\tGuided walking tours within Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy.
\n\tBird walks and ecological experiences within the property.
\n\tMount Kenya Ceremony and cultural experiences.
\n\tSundowners, bush experiences, and bespoke guest itineraries.
\n\tAirport transfers and inter-property journeys where required.<\/p>\n
Safety & Operational Excellence<\/p>\n
\tEnsure the safety and wellbeing of guests at all times during excursions and transfers.
\n\tConduct vehicle inspections before and after each excursion.
\n\tMaintain cleanliness, presentation, and operational readiness of safari vehicles and equipment.
\n\tAdhere to all road safety regulations, conservancy protocols, and Fairmont operational standards.
\n\tRespond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
\n\tMaintain accurate excursion logs, incident reports, and vehicle records.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Wildlife & Conservation Knowledge<\/p>\n
\tDemonstrate strong understanding of East African wildlife and behavior.
\n\tBird species and identification.
\n\tEcosystems and habitats.
\n\tConservation efforts and sustainability practices.
\n\tLocal culture, history, and heritage.
\n\tContinuously develop knowledge through training, reading, and field exposure.
\n\tPromote responsible tourism and conservation awareness among guests.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tA valid driving license with clean driving record.
\n\tProfessional safari guiding and\/or tour guiding experience.
\n\tExcellent command of spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
\n\tStrong interpersonal and communication skills.
\n\tEmotional intelligence and empathy.
\n\tCalm and composed demeanor under pressure.
\n\tStrong hosting and guest engagement ability.
\n\tPassion for wildlife, conservation, and nature.
\n\tAbility to read guest energy and adapt experiences accordingly.
\n\tHigh standards of professionalism, grooming, and presentation.
\n\tPhysical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
\n\tStrong teamwork and collaboration skills.
\n\tBronze, Silver, or Gold level guiding certification or equivalent
\n\tFirst Aid certification.
\n\tDefensive driving certification or adequate experience
\n\tPrevious experience in luxury hospitality or safari operations.
\n\tKnowledge of the Laikipia ecosystem and surrounding conservancies.\u00a0<\/p>\n
