About the Role<\/p>\n
The OSH administrator will play a key role in championing workplace safety and health. They will coordinate and administer the organization’s occupational safety and health (OSH) programs in achieving compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007, WIBA 2007, and other relevant regulations. The OSH Administrator will also manage documentation, training, inspections, and workplace incident response.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Compliance and Documentation<\/p>\n
\tSupports and coordinates the implementation of the OSH workplan, including medical surveillance, occupational injury incident reporting, and communication coordination with the F4E-appointed intermediary or policy provider
\n\tDrive workplace OSH compliance and standards through effective policy implementation and monitoring
\n\tEnsure regulatory compliance while promoting safety awareness in achieving personnel protection, office assets, and the working environment
\n\tEnsure statutory registrations are up to date: workplace registration, fire certificates, plant and equipment certificates
\n\tDocumentation and record keeping of all defined budgets and expenditures for all activities within the OSH scope, while ensuring assets and inventory management
\n\tDocumentation & Keep records of all incidents, near misses, training, medical exams, and equipment inspections
\n\tSupports coordination and execution of statutory OSH audits, emergency response planning, and environmental initiatives
\n\tMaintain OSH Management systems with regular updates to ensure alignment with current regulatory, statutory, and industry best practices in liaison with the manager
\n\tSupport in the preparation of OSH monthly reports and weekly activities updates
\n\tSupport in the administration of the OSH Budget, ensuring all activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner
\n\tMaintain and update OSH work stream trackers – Workplace Mapout, WIBA GPA tracker, etc
\n\tEnsure and support on OSH vendors\/supplier management, ensuring follow-up on PO\u2019s, confirmation of goods and services delivery, and payment within the stipulated organization’s procurement guidelines<\/p>\n
Risk Management & Inspection<\/p>\n
\tConduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments across Kitchens, warehouses, and offices
\n\tIdentify hazards: chemical, physical, ergonomic, psychosocial, and recommend control measures
\n\tImplement control measures to mitigate risks, maintain the register, and ensure follow-up of corrective actions
\n\tPrepare & coordinate external audits & certifications: DOSHS, ISO 14001, ISO45001, and support in closing all the corrective actions
\n\tInspect PPE, first aid kits, fire equipment, and emergency exits to ensure they are in order and service schedules are met.<\/p>\n
Training & Awareness<\/p>\n
\tOrganise mandatory OSH trainings: induction for new staff, visitors, statutory first aid, fire marshal, work-at-height, etc
\n\tDevelop toolbox talks, safety alerts, and posters. Run safety campaigns and drills
\n\tRegularly update the Safety & Health Committee on legal changes and best practices
\n\tMaintain training matrix and ensure 100% compliance for high-risk roles<\/p>\n
Incident Management<\/p>\n
\tServe as the first point of contact for workplace injuries, near misses, and dangerous occurrences
\n\tSupport investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, document root causes, and track implementation of corrective actions
\n\tEnsure timely reporting and GPA, \u00a0DOSHS WIBA Process is adhered to, and closure in \u00a0liaison with our intermediary and insurance provider
\n\tLiaise with HR on WIBA GPA claims, injured employee wellbeing, WIBA GPA documentation follow-ups, and return-to-work programs<\/p>\n
Reporting & Documentation<\/p>\n
\tPrepare OSH reports, dashboards, and trackers
\n\tMaintain documentation related to safety, procedures, audits & compliance<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
\tDiploma\/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Law, Engineering, or related field
\n\tProfessional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA). Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems preferred.
\n\tMinimum 3 years\u2019 OSH experience, preferably in Manufacturing\/Construction\/NGO
\n\tStrong knowledge of OSHA 2007, WIBA 2007, Factory Rules, and NEMA regulations
\n\tCertified in First Aid and Fire Safety by an approved institution
\n\tProficient in MS Office + any HSE software<\/p>\n

\n\tReduction in workplace incidents and Lost Time Injury Frequency Rates (LTIFR).<\/p>\n
