\tThe Manager I: Underwriting is responsible for efficient underwriting of insurance risks in accordance with the set guidelines to enhance business retention growth and profitability.<\/p>\n
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tPrudent vetting of risks for various classes of insurance.
\n\tCalculating and advising clients, brokers, and agents on insurance premiums.
\n\tPreparing premium\/sum insured returns and summaries as required by IRA\/AKI.
\n\tLiaising with the Reinsurance Section regarding risks that require facultative reinsurance placement.
\n\tPrompting debiting of all new and renewal business in accordance with the set TATs.
\n\tApproving various tasks as per the set Authority limits.
\n\tProcessing accurate policy documents and endorsements in accordance with the set TATs.
\n\tEnsuring that Renewal Notices are sent out to clients\/intermediaries as per set standards.
\n\tAdvising business development of any risk aspects at renewal e.g. where the loss ratio is not good.
\n\tHandling correspondence in accordance with the mail handling procedure.
\n\tResponding to customer complaints as per the complaints handling procedure.
\n\tAnalysing, advising, and implementing risk improvement measures for the varying classes.
\n\tUnderstanding and complying with any reinsurance requirements to minimize risk and deliver business plan objectives.
\n\tPreparing monthly reports and any other duties as may be directed by the Management.
\n\tChecking all documents prepared\/processed and authorizing them.
\n\tSupervising, assigning tasks\/mail, and coordinating activities.
\n\tCredit control management through the issuance of cancellation notices.
\n\tDealing with internal and external audit issues within the set timelines.
\n\tMonitoring BAM reports on a monthly basis.
\n\tIdentify and suggest improvements to the footprint system and other processes for improved.
\n\tAppraising, training, and developing staff.
\n\tSupporting the implementation of the various initiatives and projects in the department as per.<\/p>\n
