The primary focus is to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe, child-centered learning environment that follows approved curricula and institutional directives.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve academic excellence, the Principal works collaboratively to lead, manage, and nurture all staff members, while communicating effectively with parents and the wider community. The scope of this role encompasses strategic planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, extracurricular activities, personnel management, financial oversight, emergency procedures, resource scheduling, and facilities operations. Additionally, as the Secretary of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Principal plays a pivotal role in providing strategic direction and leadership to the school.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Leadership<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide professional guidance, strategic direction, and leadership throughout the school.<br \/>\n\tAct as the official spokesperson and representative of the school in all official functions.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the school\u2019s academic and co-curricular performance meets high standards as per institutional policy.<br \/>\n\tMaintain exceptional standards of discipline among both staff and students.<br \/>\n\tDrive the highest possible standards of learning and student achievement.<br \/>\n\tParticipate in regular meetings with school board members to discuss and implement continuous improvements.<br \/>\n\tRecord and maintain minutes for all Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings.<br \/>\n\tTake direct responsibility for maintaining and increasing student enrollment and growth to ensure the long-term sustainability of the school.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the holistic growth of students is maintained through pastoral care, a core value of the institution.<br \/>\n\tPerform any other duties assigned by the School Administrator.<\/p>\n<p>Instructional Management<\/p>\n<p>\tPlan and oversee the implementation of an effective curriculum, timetable, and school-day organization, reviewing these frameworks regularly.<br \/>\n\tMaintain strong, up-to-date knowledge of the\u00a08-4-4 \/ CBC\u00a0(Competency-Based Curriculum) and\u00a0IGCSE Secondary Education\u00a0systems.<br \/>\n\tReview school policies and procedures regularly to ensure compliance with 8-4-4, CBC, and IGCSE requirements.<br \/>\n\tOversee examination processes, including student registration, timetabling, preparation, execution (in accordance with\u00a0CIE &amp; KNEC\u00a0schedules), and the safe dispatch of scripts.<br \/>\n\tConstantly monitor curriculum updates, training programs, and online assistance provided by Cambridge International Education (CIE).<br \/>\n\tInterpret and implement regulatory decisions pertaining to national and international education.<br \/>\n\tConsult regularly with the SMT regarding the planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of educational programs.<br \/>\n\tTeach relevant subjects within areas of specialization as required, directly managing and implementing the curriculum.<br \/>\n\tEnsure syllabi are fully taught and completed on time as per academic policy.<br \/>\n\tAdminister teaching functions, including the formal evaluation of curriculum delivery and post-examination feedback\/inquiries.<br \/>\n\tKeep well-informed of current local and global educational trends.<\/p>\n<p>School Climate &amp; Morale<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide necessary instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in achieving educational goals.<br \/>\n\tFoster collegiality, collaboration, and team building among all staff members.<br \/>\n\tFacilitate open, two-way communication channels with staff, students, parents, and the community.<br \/>\n\tCommunicate and promote high-performance expectations to both staff and students, recognizing excellence and achievement.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the efficient and timely resolution of workplace and school conflicts.<br \/>\n\tMaintain continuous quality standards across all facets of school life.<br \/>\n\tBuild a common vision for school improvement with staff, directing planning activities to attain the school&#8217;s mission.<br \/>\n\tMaintain an appropriate balance between academics and co-curricular areas, ensuring art, music, drama, sports, and community involvement are properly integrated.<br \/>\n\tIdentify, analyze, and apply relevant research findings to drive school improvement.<br \/>\n\tDevelop annual school performance objectives and maintain the information systems required to track progress against academic excellence indicators.<\/p>\n<p>Personnel Management<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure the recruitment of teachers and non-teaching staff who possess the right qualifications, experience, and attitude.<br \/>\n\tSupport the induction, onboarding, and mentoring of all new staff members.<br \/>\n\tDefine clear performance expectations regarding instructional strategies, classroom management, and public communication.<br \/>\n\tSupervise all teaching and non-teaching personnel to ensure full execution of duties and departmental growth.<br \/>\n\tObserve teaching abilities firsthand in the classroom and recommend target improvements.<br \/>\n\tSupport the assignment, promotion, and professional growth of institutional personnel.<br \/>\n\tMake formal recommendations to management regarding the termination, suspension, or non-renewal of employee contracts when necessary.<br \/>\n\tWork alongside management and HR to plan, lead, and manage professional development and training opportunities, including CIE program support registrations.<br \/>\n\tConduct formal performance appraisals at least twice a year for all staff members in liaison with the HR Manager.<br \/>\n\tMaintain an open-door policy so that teachers feel comfortable approaching leadership with queries or issues.<\/p>\n<p>Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions<\/p>\n<p>\tComply fully with government policies and educational regulations affecting the institution.<br \/>\n\tSupport the development of institutional budgets based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, and resource requirements; maintain strict fiscal control.<br \/>\n\tAccurately compile, maintain, file, and report all physical and computerized records required by the board and Ministry of Education.<br \/>\n\tManage the allocation and use of school facilities, supervising maintenance to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe learning environment.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that equipment and learning materials are sufficient for the student population.<br \/>\n\tOversee boarding provisions, ensuring the highest possible standards of pastoral care, safety, and student healthcare systems are maintained.<\/p>\n<p>Student Management<\/p>\n<p>\tTake responsibility for overall student welfare, ensuring strict adherence to the institution&#8217;s admissions policy and entrance procedures.<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with faculty and students to manage an equitable student discipline system that fosters positive behavior and a constructive school climate.<br \/>\n\tEnsure school rules are uniformly observed in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.<br \/>\n\tConduct proactive discussions regarding student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.<\/p>\n<p>Professional Growth and Development<\/p>\n<p>\tContinually develop personal professional skills appropriate to the assignment.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior at all times, serving as an exemplary role model for staff and students.<br \/>\n\tEnsure teachers are adequately trained to deliver both local and international curricula through classroom observations, recorded feedback, and formal evaluation conferences.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0School &amp; Community Relations<\/p>\n<p>\tArticulate the school\u2019s mission to the community and solicit public support.<br \/>\n\tBuild strong, positive working relationships with students, parents, administrative staff, and teachers.<br \/>\n\tActively market the school to boost student enrollment and brand growth.<br \/>\n\tServe as the primary liaison officer between the Education Department, school sponsors, administrative staff, and external stakeholders.<br \/>\n\tWelcome parents into the school ecosystem, ensuring they are kept fully informed of developments and their children\u2019s academic progress through regular, constructive reports.<\/p>\n<p>Supervisory Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>\tDirectly supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, including the Deputy Principal(s), teachers, counsellors, librarians, instructional aides, clerical support, and custodial teams.<br \/>\n\tTrack and manage teacher and student attendance trends to ensure no stakeholders fall behind.<br \/>\n\tAct as the overall organizer, coordinator, and supervisor of all school activities, driving continuous corrective actions based on institutional outcomes to maintain elite teaching and learning standards.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications &amp;
