\tThe overall purpose of this job is to review, interpret and report on radiological images in order provide accurate diagnosis on patients\u2019 examinations in line with established protocols and the Hospital\u2019s protocols.<\/p>\n
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tEvaluate patients\u2019 medical histories to identify potential risks from imaging procedures; recommend alternative techniques where appropriate.
\n\tExplain imaging processes to patients and address relevant requirements.
\n\tPerform and interpret x-ray, ultrasound, mammogram, CT and MRI examinations,
\n\tproviding technical guidance for diagnosis and treatment.
\n\tGuide radiology staff in image-guided diagnostic procedures per established protocols.
\n\tInterpret diagnostic imaging results to determine accurate diagnoses.
\n\tDiscuss findings and diagnoses with referring physicians.
\n\tCompile diagnostic reports on test results.
\n\tRespond to emergency situations (e.g., resuscitations, bleeding, infections) in line with medical protocols.
\n\tParticipate in radiology-related research and departmental protocol development\/review.
\n\tPerform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.<\/p>\n
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMaster\u2019s degree in Radiology from a recognized institution.
\n\tBachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
\n\tMust be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council and hold a valid practicing licence.
\n\tMinimum of 3 years practicing experience in Radiology.<\/p>\n
