The role is responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, HR operations, compliance, governance, and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic partner to leadership while fostering a high-performance, compliant, and people-centered work environment.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Talent Acquisition &amp; Workforce Planning<\/p>\n<p>\tLead end-to-end recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes across all departments to support organizational growth and workforce planning initiatives.<br \/>\n\tPartner with departmental leaders to identify staffing needs, succession planning priorities, and talent development opportunities.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract, retain, and onboard high-performing talent.<\/p>\n<p>Employee Relations &amp; Compliance<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvise managers and employees on employee relations matters including disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.<br \/>\n\tEnsure compliance with employment legislation, labor regulations, and HR best practices across all employee management processes.<br \/>\n\tMaintain HR governance standards by supporting internal audits, regulatory reviews, and external compliance requirements.<br \/>\n\tParticipate in audit readiness activities including Central Bank, internal, and external audits by ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance of HR records and documentation.<\/p>\n<p>Performance Management &amp; Organizational Development<\/p>\n<p>\tSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of performance management frameworks including goal setting, employee evaluations, coaching, feedback mechanisms, and development plans.<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with leadership to drive employee productivity, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives.<br \/>\n\tSupport learning and development initiatives that enhance workforce capability and organizational effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>HR Policies, Governance &amp; Reporting<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, HR manuals, welfare policies, and staff loan policies in line with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.<br \/>\n\tPrepare HR reports, board papers, and workforce analytics to support strategic decision-making and governance oversight.<br \/>\n\tEnsure proper maintenance and confidentiality of employee records and HR documentation.<\/p>\n<p>Employee Lifecycle &amp; Benefits Administration<\/p>\n<p>\tOversee the complete employee lifecycle including onboarding, engagement, confirmation, transfers, leave management, benefits administration, and structured offboarding processes.<br \/>\n\tAdminister employee compensation and benefits programs including pension schemes, medical insurance, wellness programs, and ESOP allocation.<br \/>\n\tCoordinate payroll support activities and ensure accurate HRIS management, employee data administration, and workforce reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Employee Engagement &amp; Culture<\/p>\n<p>\tDrive employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives including wellness programs, team-building activities, recognition programs, and staff engagement initiatives.<br \/>\n\tPartner with senior leadership and department heads to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.<br \/>\n\tSupport initiatives that improve employee satisfaction, retention, and operational effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications &amp; Experience<\/p>\n<p>\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.<br \/>\n\tProfessional HR certification such as CHRP or equivalent is an added advantage.<br \/>\n\tA full Member of IHRM with an active membership is a must.<br \/>\n\tMinimum of 5\u20137 years\u2019 progressive HR experience, preferably within a regulated or fast-paced environment.<br \/>\n\tStrong understanding of labor laws, HR governance, compliance, and employee relations practices.<br \/>\n\tExperience in HR audits, policy development, performance management, and HR operations.<br \/>\n\tProficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.<\/p>\n<p>Key Competencies<\/p>\n<p>\tStrategic thinking and business partnering<br \/>\n\tStrong interpersonal and communication skills<br \/>\n\tHigh level of integrity and confidentiality<br \/>\n\tProblem-solving and conflict resolution skills<br \/>\n\tLeadership and stakeholder management<br \/>\n\tOrganizational and analytical skills<br \/>\n\tAbility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment<\/p>\n<p>Apply Through:<\/p>\n<p>umba.applytojob.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/umba.applytojob.com","_company_name":"Umba","_company_website":"http:\/\/www.umba.com","_company_tagline":"Umba combines advanced tools and techniques to optimize risk exposures in emerging markets that are currently underserved by traditional banking services.
