{"id":97326,"date":"2026-06-05T08:01:29","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T08:01:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/job\/head-of-pastoral-care-cambridge\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T08:01:54","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T08:01:54","slug":"head-of-pastoral-care-cambridge","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/kenya\/job\/head-of-pastoral-care-cambridge\/","title":{"rendered":"Head of Pastoral Care Cambridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This list is not meant to provide a narrow definition of specific responsibilities but to serve as guidance and should be seen as enabling rather than restrictive.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tBe accountable for leading,\u00a0managing\u00a0and co-ordinating pastoral care programmes in the school.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tSupport the staff in managing behaviours so that each individual student achieves their\u00a0optimum\u00a0level in the subject(s) and ensure that effective strategies are in place to further raise standards of student attainment and achievement;\u00a0<br \/>\n\tWork closely with the Heads to track student progress,\u00a0monitor\u00a0patterns\u00a0and take\u00a0appropriate action\u00a0to combat underachievement and low aspiration.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure the effective management and deployment of staff and physical resources within the department.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\tSupervise the career guidance team and co-ordinate guidance and support for all students.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tReview and oversee the implementation of the pastoral care policy\u00a0<br \/>\n\tMonitor and support the overall progress and development of students with Learning Support needs.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tDrawing up budget plans for Learning Support activities and ensure\u00a0allocated\u00a0resources are\u00a0utilized\u00a0with maximum efficiency.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tBe the Child Protection Officer of\u00a0MS-C\u00a0promoting the welfare of learners and ensuring staff share this commitment and ensuring that the Principal and Head Teachers are informed of all child protection issues.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure counselling services are provided as\u00a0required\u00a0to the students.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tDevelop ADvTECH and\u00a0MS-C\u00a0values through assemblies, lessons, co-curricular activities and support and guidance packages made available to students.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tPromote talent development and co-ordinate co-curricular activities within the school to enhance holistic learning;\u00a0<br \/>\n\tMonitor and line manage the\u00a0MS-C\u00a0pastoral care structure.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\tOversee students\u2019 behaviour, conduct, rewards, and sanctions and ensure that the highest standards are\u00a0maintained\u00a0at all times.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tImplement a quality assurance framework and self-evaluation system that involves all stakeholders and leads to the synthesis of strategic priorities in relation to student support,\u00a0guidance\u00a0and development.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tCommunicate\u00a0MS-C\u00a0and ADvTECH values and ethos clearly to students, staff,\u00a0parents\u00a0and the community and ensure all are clear of the school\u2019s expectations of them.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tDevelop the Student Leadership Programme to systematically ensure that as many students as is possible have a leadership opportunity in the school.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tParticipate in relevant courses related to the role of Head of Pastoral Care and keep abreast of current or new developments in the area.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure a safe,\u00a0secure\u00a0and healthy environment for students and staff by making sure that Health and Safety procedures are\u00a0adhered to at all times.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\tPrepare an annual Unit Development Plan as part of the School Strategic Plan and review and evaluate its effectiveness and impact regularly.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tTo\u00a0maintain\u00a0confidentiality and sensitivity to the student\u2019s needs but have regard to the school\u2019s procedures for the safety and protection of students and the school.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Minimum requirements<\/p>\n<p>Education &amp; Professional Qualitifications<\/p>\n<p>\tBachelors Degree in Education\/Psychology<br \/>\n\tMaster\u2019s degree in the relevant field of psychology is an added advantage<br \/>\n\tMust be TSC registered<\/p>\n<p>Work experience<\/p>\n<p>\tA Minimum of\u00a07 years\u00a0working experience handling pastoral care in a recognized international school<\/p>\n<p>Skills, knowledge &amp; abilities<\/p>\n<p>\tSound understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and national regulations<br \/>\n\tConfidentiality pertaining to interaction with and information of the learner, parents, and staff<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of methods of assessment;
