Role Summary<\/p>\n
\tReporting to the Senior ICT Officer, the ICT Intern will gain valuable hands\u2011on experience in Information Technology within a dynamic NGO environment. The internship is designed to provide exposure to core ICT functions, including user support, systems administration, network monitoring, systems and data management, and ICT security operations. The intern will work closely with the ICT team to assist in daily operations, contribute to ongoing projects, and support the organization\u2019s mission by ensuring smooth, secure, and reliable ICT services.<\/p>\n
Key Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tProvide helpdesk assistance to staff on standard software and hardware issues.
\n\tAssist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
\n\tSupport network troubleshooting and maintenance.
\n\tFollow up on ICT equipment repairs and maintenance.
\n\tProvide ICT support during meetings, events, and field activities.
\n\tSupport ICT Security Operations, including monitoring threats, enforcing security policies, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
\n\tDocument and escalate unresolved issues to senior ICT staff.
\n\tPerform any other duties as assigned by the ICT supervisor<\/p>\n
Required Academic and Professional Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
\n\tFamiliarity with Unix and Windows-based applications and basic networking concepts.
\n\tExperience in networking, PC maintenance, MS Windows server, MS Active Directory, desktop operating systems, Cisco routing, switching, and voice technologies.
\n\tStrong interpersonal and communication skills.
\n\tWillingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
\n\tAttention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
