\nThe Malawi School of Government is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to head its library services. The successful candidate will lead the transformation of the School\u2019s library into a dynamic, digital-first learning hub, integrating e-learning\u00a0platforms and supporting academic excellence. The Librarian will drive innovation in information literacy, collaborate across departments to enhance digital pedagogy, and ensure library services align with institutional learning and quality assurance standards.Key Duties and Responsibilities:ManagementDevelop a vision to ensure MSG libraries model modern librarianship.Develop, review,\u00a0monitor,\u00a0and\u00a0implement library policies, plans, programmes,\u00a0strategies, and budgets.Lead, recruit, supervise, and manage library staff performance.Oversee and monitor service delivery in campus libraries.Integrate e-learning platforms and support digital teaching initiatives.Curate and manage digital resources for academic and professional programmes.Support academic assessment through library tools and services.Foster a student-centered, data-informed learning environment aligned with institutional priorities.Collaborate with faculties to enhance digital pedagogy and instructional design.Promote and oversee the adoption of innovative learning technologies.Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports to the Director General.Library and Information ServicesDevelop, manage, and document cataloguing and metadata standards and procedures.Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration across campus libraries.Implement user information literacy programmes.Champion digital preservation to ensure sustainable access to digital resources.Maintain and secure\u00a0all\u00a0library\u00a0resources.Teaching, Research, Consultancy, and Advisory ServicesSupport teaching, research,\u00a0consultancy, and advisory services.Promote library literacy among staff and students.Advise staff\u00a0and postgraduate\u00a0students on credible and relevant journals.Financial Management and Resource MobilisationDevelop and manage the library\u2019s annual budget.Mobilise resourcesto support superior library and information services.Ensure efficient resource allocation and financial compliance.Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions.Quality AssuranceEnsure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.NetworkingDevelop and maintain partnerships at national, regional, and international levels.Secretariat ServicesServe relevant statutory and ad-hoc committees.Qualifications and Attributes:Master of Science in Library and Information Sciences or related fields from an NCHE-accredited institution.At least 5 years\u2019 experience in a higher education or comparable institution at a senior level.Advanced\u00a0experience managing\u00a0online and e-learning systems.HOW TO APPLYInterested candidates should\u00a0submit application letters, detailed CVs, and names\u00a0and contact details of three traceable referees to:The Director General
