The National Local Government Finance Committee (NLGFC) was established under section (149) (1) of the Republic of Malawi Constitution and further powers and functions conferred on it by the Local Government Act (1998), The core functions as defined by Constitution includes: (a) Budget: to receive all estimates of revenue and all projected budgets of all LGAs; to prepare a consolidated budget for all LGAs; (b) Accounting and financial management; to examine and supervise accounts of LGAs; Receive final accounts from LGAs and forward a copy to the Auditor General; to disallow any item of expenditure and to surcharge. \nResponsible for : Senior Financial Regulation & Compliance Analyst and Senior Financial Reporting analystJob PurposeFacilitate compliance and adherence to accounting and financial management laws and regulations, policies, procedures, standards and controls for effective management of government and donor resources in Local Government Authorities (LGA).Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview the adequacy of controls and enforce adherence to financial management regulatory framework in LGAs.Facilitate development, review and implementation of accounting and financial management policies, procedures, finance manuals, standards and controls for effective management of donor and government resources.Coordinate development, review and implementation of guidelines, tools and templates for asset
