\nLocation:\u00a0Lilongwe, MalawiJob Purpose:The Data Center Operations Executive is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the data Center. This includes monitoring systems, maintaining physical and virtual environments, ensuring uptime, performing routine maintenance, and responding to hardware and network issues to ensure continuous availability of IT infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and manage data Center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, power, and cooling equipment.Ensure 24\/7 uptime of systems and services by responding promptly to alerts and incidents.Perform hardware installations, upgrades, diagnostics, and replacements for servers and network devices.Conduct routine data center walkthroughs and inspections to ensure operational efficiency and physical security.Coordinate with network, security, and system teams for troubleshooting and escalation of issues.Maintain detailed records of equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and incident reports.Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data center operations, including change and incident management.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.Support backup and disaster recovery processes and participate in testing exercises.Provide remote hands support to internal teams and external vendors as required.Assist in capacity planning and forecasting for future data center resource needs.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.2+ years of experience in data center operations or infrastructure support.Hands-on experience with server hardware, networking equipment, cabling, and power systems.Familiarity with monitoring data center tools.Understanding of ITIL principles and change management processes is an added advantage.Certification such as CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals is desirable.Skills and Competencies:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and 24\/7 operational environment.Attention to detail and commitment to documentation.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Physical ability to lift and install hardware components.Working Conditions:Shift-based work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as required.Physical work environment involving exposure to noise, cool temperatures, and confined spaces.May require occasional travel between data center sites.RemunerationInterested candidates should submit their applications with detailed CV with names and addresses of at least 3 traceable referees by email only to\u00a0recruitment@sparcsystems.africa\u00a0not later than 25th\u00a0July 2025.<\/p>\n
