The objectives of the Right to Food Coalition are to:Advocate for the need for a legal and policy framework to govern food and nutrition programming in Malawi.Promote public awareness on the Right to Adequate Food and Nutrition.Strengthen coordination and collaboration of food system actors towards sustainable food systems<br \/>\ntransformation.Strengthen research and knowledge exchange on food rights and nutrition security.Establish participatory monitoring, feedback, and accountability mechanisms on the implementation of food and nutrition programming, policy, and legal frameworks.Currently, the coalition is being hosted by the Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency (CSAT).<br \/>\nThe Right to Food Coalition is looking for a Coalition Coordinator responsible for coordinating the coalition members and facilitating participatory design and implementation of advocacy strategy on the Right to Food. The successful candidate will also work closely with CSAT, the host who is implementing the Right to Food project under the Strengthening Rural Governance for the Right to Adequate Food program in Malawi in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH).The position is based in Lilongwe and is to be filled as soon as possible with an initial contract period of one year, with the possibility of extension.Tasks and responsibilities of the position:Coalition Building and Policy AdvocacyFacilitating participatory design and implementation of the Right to Food advocacy\u00a0 strategy and ensuring involvement and participation of coalition members and concerned stakeholders.Lead in identifying advocacy opportunities, policy developments and evidence generation at the<br \/>\nnational and district levels and timely sharing of corresponding information with the coalition members for action.Facilitate effective communication and coordination among coalition members, ensuring strong linkages between district and national levels in alignment with advocacy priorities.Coordinate identification, mobilization and on-boarding of coalition membersBuilding strategic alliances and managing relationships with government entities, public institutions, civil society organizations, intergovernmental organizations and international financial partners on behalf of the coalition membersLead the development of a sustainable financial model by promoting, supporting, and coordinating fundraising initiatives among coalition members, including engaging potential donors and contributing to the drafting of funding proposals.\u201dCoalition Visibility and Public AwarenessIncreasing the visibility of the coalition and related initiatives at the national and district levels through a proper communications strategy, developed in coordination with coalition members.Responsible for representing the coalition in all relevant platforms and structures related to the Right to Food at the national level.Responsible for developing regular media policy briefs, opinion pieces, and IEC materials on advocacy initiatives of the coalition by working closely with media outlets.Monitoring, Evaluation, and ReportingReport on coalition activities to the Steering Committee, broader membership, and stakeholders, while contributing to donor reports to ensure advocacy efforts are articulated and demonstrate measurable impactDevelop an M&amp;E framework to track the impact of advocacy initiatives and measure progress toward policy goals.Document lessons learned and best practices from advocacy activities to inform future programming.Qualifications \/ Profile and ExperienceBachelor\u2019s degree in public policy, Food security, Nutrition, Law, Human Rights Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. A master\u2019s degree is an advantage.Proven experience of a minimum of 5 years of experience in policy advocacy, coalition or network<br \/>\nbuilding or program management preferably related to food security, social justice and human rights-based approaches.Strong understanding of Malawi\u2019s policy landscape, food and nutrition security challenges, and the right to food as a human right.Proven track record in partnership development, coalition-building, and stakeholder engagement.Ability to design and implement communications campaigns and keep diverse stakeholders engaged for change.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience with public speaking and<br \/>\nmedia engagement.
