INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUNDThe Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA), the Energy Sector Regulator in Malawi, was established under the Energy Regulation Act No 20 of 2004 with the mandate to regulate the energy sector in Malawi for sustainable socio-economic development.In line with its the mandate, MERA would like to engage the services of Compliance Support Workers who will work on temporary basis for a period of 3 months. \nReporting to: Fuels Regulation SpecialistPurpose of the JobTo support MERA\u2019s compliance and enforcement operations in selected fuel service stations by assisting in the monitoring, documentation, and reporting of illegal fuel vending and related activities.Key Responsibilities:
\ni. Conduct regular field observations and spot checks in coordination with MERA regional officers and local authorities.ii.\u00a0 Capture and submit geotagged photographs and field reports using an Android phone.
\niii. Monitor and report suspected cases of illegal fuel vending or smuggling.
\niv. Support the collection of intelligence and documentation needed for compliance actions.
\nv. Participate in briefings, reporting sessions, and awareness activities as directed.C. Educational Qualifications and Requirements:Ideal candidates for the position must:i. have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
\nii. possess a functional Android phone with camera and location services.
\niii. have basic knowledge of mobile apps and data capture tools is an added advantage.
