RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER \u2013 NF3Posted:\u00a028 Jul, 2025Closes:\u00a005 Aug, 2025 at 6:00 PMBackgroundThe National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government-owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians (particularly women, youth, and persons with disability) through the provision of quality, affordable and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.NEEF invites applications from suitably qualified, mature, ambitious, professional Malawi Nationals with a passion for results and respect for ethics and hands-on experience to fill the vacant position.Job DescriptionTo oversee risk management and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while supporting the strategic objectives of the Fund.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesOverseeing the development, approval, implementation, and periodic maintenance of the Fund\u2019s risk appetite, policies, and procedures to ensure they remain relevant and effective.Preparing and integrating risk management priorities into the company\u2019s strategic planning processes and systems, establishing methodologies for ongoing identification and assessment of material risks.Developing a comprehensive Risk Management Framework that includes Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Internal Controls to monitor current risk exposures and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.Developing and implementing a robust system for identifying, monitoring, managing, and controlling credit, market, and operational risks while promoting understanding of key risk concepts among the Board and Management.Monitoring the Fund\u2019s risk appetite in accordance with regulatory standards and advise the Board on current and future risk appetites, including reviewing reports on breaches and remediation actions.Providing overall leadership and guidance to the Risk Management function to of all staff by overseeing talent promotion, career development, succession planning, staff appraisals, performance monitoring and reviews, and building staff capacities.Monitoring and enforcing compliance with relevant laws, rules, regulations, corporate governance practices, and resolutions of both the Board and AGM meetingsManaging the designing, implementation, review and approval of a NEEF\u2019s risk governance framework that is aligned with strategy and NEEF\u2019s risk culture, risk appetite and risk limits.Developing and implanting strategies to assist the Board to foster a supportive risk culture throughout the Fund, and ensure that risk management principles are embedded in organizational practices.Qualification and ExperienceMaster\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration\/Management and Auditing from a NCHE accredited University.5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in risk management, internal control or audit, preferably from a microfinance, banking or financial institution.Professional qualifications (e.g. ICAM, ACCA, CIMA or CIA)Registered with Malawi Accountants Board or with the Institute of Internal Auditors and ICAMMethod of ApplicationInterested candidates are encouraged to apply online by clicking the **\u201cApply Now\u201d** button below.The Chief Executive Officer
