\nDESCRIPTION OF THE ASSIGNMENTWala Malawi TA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Non-Key Expert \u2013 1 (SNKE-1) to join the project, with focus on compliance to the Regulatory environment. This role is crucial for supporting our initiatives in the energy sector, by developing an efficient operating compliance matrix for state and non-state actors.The role is essential for achieving four specific outputs of the WALA Malawi project work plan which are:(a) Providing training to EGENCO (and other market entrants \/ IPPs) in developing feasibility studies (Task 3.1.6), (b) Identifying the regulatory bottlenecks and assess the possible regulatory adaptations to allow private sector operators to develop power plants in areas not connected to the main grid \u00a0(Task 3.1.7); \u00a0(c) Developing the regulatory framework that will facilitate bilateral power sales agreements be-tween IPPs and mining operations, in particular in areas that serve the strategic common interests of EU-Malawi trade relations (Task 3.1.8) and (d) \u00a0Catalyse the energy sector investments by centralising the coordination and promotion of IFI\u2019s (International Financial Institutions)The role is further also essential in the attainment of the pillar 4 of the Malawian energy compact which inter-alia considersi.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Develop leadership and management capacity building programmes to strengthen governance and decision making within key institutions while increasing vocational training for youth.ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Support strategic private investments vide prioritization of fiscal support to prior identified high impact projects as well as enabling dollar denominated contractsTo this end, the ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of Energy regulatory environment
