DIRECTORATE OF BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION AND CLIMATE CHANGEJob Title: Senior Climate Change Management OfficerGrade: (M4)
\nReporting to: Climate Change Manager.PURPOSE, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Purpose of the JobTo lead in Climate Change managementKey Roles and Responsibilitiesa) Develop and implement climate change related work plans, budgets for effective execution of the Authority.
\nb) Carry out periodic assessments of greenhouse gas emissions from various sectors to be used for compilation of national communications and biennial transparency reports.
\nc) Support mobilization of resources for implementation of climate change interventions by developing partnerships with existing sources of Finance both domestically and internationally.
\nd) Support the development, review, and implementation of national climate change policies, strategies and action plans (e.g. Malawi\u2019s Nationally Determined Contributions \u2013 NDCs).
\ne) Support in ensuring alignment of MEPA\u2019s climate change initiatives with regional and international commitments such as the UNFCC and the Parish Agreement.
\nf) Ensure climate change considerations are integrated in project formulation processes including the Environmental Impact Assessments and provide recommendations.
\ng) Enforce reporting and verification of greenhouse gas emissions to be used for compilation of national communications and biennial transparency report under the enhanced transparency framework.
