JOB DESCRIPTION \u2013 LOAN OFFICERPosition: Loan OfficerReports to: Head of OperationsDepartment: OperationsLocation: Blantyre BranchStart Date: Immediate\u00a0IntroductionThe Loan Officer will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and managing loan applications, while ensuring compliance with company credit policies and regulatory standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, customer relationship management, and the ability to meet portfolio growth and quality targets.\u00a0Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, recruit, and onboard potential clients for individual and business loan products.Promote the company\u2019s financial products through community outreach, referrals, and networking.Receive and review loan applications, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.Prepare comprehensive loan appraisal reports and submit to the Credit Committee\/Manager for approval.Ensure all approved loans are documented, signed, and processed in line with company policies.Coordinate timely loan disbursement while maintaining accuracy and compliance.Monitor loan repayments and track performance of assigned loan portfolio.Identify early warning signs of non-performing loans and take proactive measures for recovery.Work closely with the Collections Team to minimize defaults and maintain portfolio quality.Maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage loyalty, repeat business, and referrals.Provide guidance to clients on loan terms, repayment schedules, and responsible borrowing.Ensure strict adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client files, loan agreements, and repayment schedules.Prepare periodic portfolio performance reports and submit them to management.Support external and internal audits by providing required loan documentation and reports.Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in lending practices.\u00a0Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Achievement of monthly and quarterly loan disbursement targets.Growth in active client base within assigned region.Timely submission of appraisal reports and credit proposals.Client satisfaction and retention levels measured through feedback and repeat business.Compliance with credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and audit standards.\u00a0Qualifications and ExperienceDiploma or Degree in Business Administration, accounting or related field.Minimum of 1\u20132 years\u2019 experience working in a finance setting.Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.High level of integrity and attention to detail.\u00a0Personal AttributesSelf-motivated and target-driven.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset.Method of ApplicationInterested individuals who meet the above requirements should submit their applications, copies of certificates, and updated CVs with at least three (3) traceable referees not later than Friday 10 October 2025\u00a0 to loans@swiftcapital.mw Unit House, Victoria Avenue, Blantyre Malawi.<\/p>\n
