As part of its strategy, Speedfreight is looking for an experienced and dynamic Accountant to join its growing team. ACCOUNTANTJob Summary We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and oversee daily accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis. Main duties and responsibilitiesPrepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.Prepares financial forecasting, budget and risk analysisConduct month-end and year-end close processCompute taxes and prepare tax returns, balance sheet, profit/loss statement and other reportsDevelop periodic reports for ManagementAudits financial transactions and document accounting control policies and proceduresDocuments financial transactions by entering account information.Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.Secures financial information by completing data base backups.Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.Complies with MRA, State, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Performs these and other cognate duties as requested Qualifications and ExperienceHaving first degree in accounting field and ACCA/ACA fully qualifiedQualified accountant with at least 5 years of similar working experienceStrong technical skill with thorough understanding of IFRSSound knowledge about Oracle accounting softwareWell versed in Microsoft Office 365 toolsStrong analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to Detail and able to work under pressureCommitted to quality and delivering on timeCan lead and coach a small team. Speedfreight Ltd reserves the right to call for interviews only the best qualified candidates.
