Fairstone Ltd looking for an Assistant Site Engineer for its construction site located at Cap Malheureux. Duties & Responsibilities Site Liaison & CoordinationAssist the Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer / Site Manager in daily site operations.Report progress of works and site issues to the Site Engineer.Provide technical support when requested by supervising engineers.Relay information to the client or management through the Site Engineer.Assist in preparation of material schedules and requisitions.Verify that works are executed according to drawings and specifications under supervision.Assist in monitoring the weekly work programme.Maintain and update the daily site diary.Attend site meetings and provide required updates.Support to Foreman / General ForemanCoordinate daily activities with the General Foreman regarding progress and quality.Assist in resolving basic technical issues on site.Help monitor production targets and workforce productivity.Participate in improving operational efficiency and reducing material wastage.Read and interpret construction drawings, details and bending schedules under guidance.Support to Quantity Surveyor (QS)Record completed work and report to the QS.Assist in measuring works executed following site instructions.Provide site information related to variations and additional works.Communicate site changes affecting quantities or claims to the Site Engineer and QS.Coordinate with M&E team to ensure services are installed according to programme.Assist in communication with M&E subcontractors.Sub-Contractor CoordinationMonitor subcontractor works and report non-compliance to the Site Engineer.Ensure subcontractors follow specifications and drawings.Assist in ensuring compliance with company safety requirements.Programme & Progress MonitoringAssist in preparing short-term work programmes.Help monitor labour and plant productivity.Assist in setting out verification with the Land Surveyor.Report delays or constraints affecting progress.Follow up material orders and deliveries to avoid site stoppages.Contract MonitoringAssist in tracking progress against programme.Help record events that may lead to claims or extension of time.Support in collecting site records and supporting documentation.Quality ControlMaintain filing of test certificates and inspection records.Assist in arranging material and concrete testing.Verify levels, dimensions and built-in items under supervision.Assist in completing QA/QC checklists before casting or covering works.Ensure quality documentation is properly maintained. SafetyMonitor workers’ use of PPE on site.Report unsafe practices to the Site Engineer / Safety Officer.Assist in enforcing site safety procedures and standards.RequirementsDegree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.1–3 years site experience (fresh graduates may be considered).Basic knowledge of construction drawings and AutoCAD.Good communication skills (English & French).Good organisational and time-management skills.Willingness to learn and work in a dynamic site environment.Flexible working hours when required.NoteThe company reserves the right to call only the best qualified candidates for the selection exercises.
