Core Network Engineer

Rogers Capital Technology Services Ltd is looking for a Core Network Engineer  to work in its Managed Connectivity Department. The Core Network Engineer will be responsible for the CORE Network operation, maintenance, optimization and availability of the ISP core network ensuring high performance, reliability, scalability and security If you are agile and have a pioneering mindset, join a winning team so that we can evolve together.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate, monitor and maintain IP/MPLS core network infrastructure Configure, manage and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and IS-ISManage MPLS services including L2VPN (E-Line, E-LAN) and L3VPN Perform fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and service restorationSupport provisioning and troubleshooting for customers Monitor network performance, latency, packet loss and capacity utilization Participate in network upgrades, expansions and new service deployments Ensure high availability, redundancy and resiliency of the core networkCoordinate with NOC, field teams and vendors for incident resolution Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams and configurations Support peering, IP transit, IXPs and upstream connectivity Assist with network security controls including ACLs, CoPP and basic DDoS mitigation Work outside normal office hours when required including planned maintenance, emergency incidents and on-call duty.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentalsHands-on experience with BGP, OSPF and/or IS-ISGood knowledge of MPLS architecture and servicesExperience with Cisco routers and carrier-grade equipmentFamiliarity with network monitoring tools such as SNMP, NetFlow and ZabbixUnderstanding of IPv4 and IPv6 dual-stack environmentsKnowledge of automation scripting (Python, Ansible) is an advantage Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to work under pressure and handle critical incidentsGood communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholdersTeam player with proactive and responsible attitudeWillingness to learn and adapt to new technologies Qualifications & CertificationsDegree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Networking, Computer Science or equivalentCCNA, CCNP or equivalent certifications are an advantage
