The General Construction Company Limited (GCC) is looking for a motivated Graduate Engineer to join our Laboratory team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the quality, performance, and future-proofing of our large-scale construction projects.What You’ll DoAs a core member of our laboratory, you will bridge the gap between theoretical engineering and practical application. You won’t just be observing; you will be at the forefront of construction quality and material evolution:Pioneer R&D Initiatives: Work closely with the Laboratory Manager on Research & Development projects, exploring alternative materials, carbon-footprint reduction in concrete, and innovative chemical admixtures.Innovate Mix Designs: Assist with advanced concrete mix design, sampling, and compliance testing to optimise strength and durability.Precision Testing: Carry out laboratory and field tests on construction materials (concrete, aggregates, soils, asphalt, etc.) in line with international standards.Data Analysis & Reporting: Record, analyse, and interpret complex test results, preparing technical reports that influence site-wide decisions.Site Support & Investigation: Support site teams with material approvals, troubleshooting, and forensic investigations into material performance.Standard Excellence: Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, while contributing to the continuous improvement of testing procedures.What We are Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Materials, Geotechnical, or a related field).An inquisitive mind with a strong interest in R&D and materials science.Strong analytical skills and a meticulous eye for detail.The ability to translate laboratory data into practical engineering solutions.Good communication skills and a “hands-on” attitude.Fresh graduates with a desire to innovate are highly encouraged to apply.Why Join GCC?R&D Exposure: Be part of a team that is actively researching the future of Mauritian construction materials.Mentorship: Learn from experienced professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.Real Impact: Work on large-scale projects that shape the infrastructure of our country.Career Foundation: Build a solid foundation for a long-term, high-level career in engineering and quality management.Ready to Launch Your Career?Send your CV now!
