Job Description
A Waterproofing Applicator (Grade 1) is a skilled senior tradesperson who prepares surfaces and installs specialized membranes, coatings, or sealants to protect roofs, basements, and structures from water damage. They lead application tasks, interpret technical blueprints, and ensure high-standard compliance.
Surface Preparation • Clean, dry, and prime concrete or masonry substrates. • Remove old, degraded sealants or failed waterproofing layers. • Patch cracks, level uneven areas, and repair structural defects. Material Application • Install torch-applied or self-adhered bituminous membranes. • Apply liquid coatings like polyurethane, acrylic, or cementitious layers using rollers, brushes, or sprayers. • Execute critical detailing around joints, penetrations, corners, and drains. Inspection and Quality Control • Test applied systems for leaks or defects to guarantee a tight seal • Monitor product curing times and follow strict technical data sheets
