Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Batching Plant Operator to join our construction team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining a concrete batching plant, ensuring the production of high-quality concrete that meets project specifications while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the concrete batching plant in accordance with production schedules.
Produce concrete mixes that comply with approved mix designs and quality standards.
Monitor batching operations to ensure accuracy in material proportions.
Inspect plant equipment daily and report faults or maintenance requirements.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of plant equipment.
Maintain accurate production, inventory, and batching records.
Coordinate with site engineers, quality control personnel, and dispatch teams.
Ensure proper storage and handling of cement, aggregates, admixtures, and other raw materials.
Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Keep the batching plant clean, organized, and operational at all times.
Requirements
Minimum of OND, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
At least 5 years of proven experience operating a concrete batching plant.
Strong understanding of concrete mix designs and batching processes.
Ability to identify and resolve operational and mechanical issues.
Knowledge of batching software and automated plant control systems is an added advantage.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience operating computerized batching plants.
Knowledge of quality control procedures for concrete production.
Mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
Strong record-keeping and reporting abilities.
Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
