Job Summary
The Geography Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective geography lessons that promote critical thinking, environmental awareness, and global understanding. The teacher will guide students in developing analytical, research, and map-reading skills while ensuring excellent academic performance.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver high-quality geography lessons in accordance with the school curriculum.
Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
Teach physical, human, regional, and environmental geography.
Guide students in map reading, data interpretation, and fieldwork activities.
Assess and monitor students’ academic progress through assignments, tests, and examinations.
Maintain accurate academic records and submit reports promptly.
Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
Organize geography clubs, projects, and excursions where appropriate.
Integrate technology and modern teaching strategies into lessons.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
Maintain discipline and uphold school policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Education, or a related field.
Teaching qualification and registration with the appropriate professional body will be an advantage.
Minimum of two years of teaching experience.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Proficiency in ICT and educational technology.
