    Job Description
    The Guidance Counselor provides academic, social-emotional, and  career counseling services to students.
    The role supports students in understanding themselves, resolving personal and academic challenges, planning their educational pathways, and preparing for post-secondary opportunities.
    The counselor collaborates with parents, teachers, and administrators to create an environment that supports student well-being and success.
    Responsibilities
    Program Development & Delivery:
    Develop, implement, teach, and revise curriculum related to the competencies of the guidance and counseling program.
    Conduct ongoing research to update curriculum and guidance interventions.
    Plan and facilitate parent seminars related to guidance, mental health, behaviour, and student development.
    Assist in developing annual and long-term goals for the guidance department.
    Assist in preparing the annual guidance department budget.
    Student Support & Counseling:
    Provide individual and group counseling to support academic, emotional, behavioural, and social needs.
    Assist students in planning for post-secondary school pathways including college preparation and career planning.
    Support students with career days, shadowing opportunities, industry mentorships, and related activities.
    Identify student needs through assessments, observations, and referrals and link them to appropriate interventions.
    Provide crisis intervention and develop safety plans for at-risk students.
    Recognize signs of substance abuse, bullying, trauma, or mental health concerns and implement appropriate measures.
    School Collaboration & Advocacy:
    Assist teachers in implementing special services and mainstreaming students with special needs.
    Consult with teachers and administrators regarding student behaviour, academic challenges, and well-being.
    Maintain strong partnerships with parents, guiding them through concerns and supporting student success.
    Advocate for students while ensuring confidentiality and ethical practice.
    Records, Reporting & Compliance:
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date student guidance records.
    Interpret and share relevant information ethically with authorized staff.
    Generate reports on student development trends, interventions, and outcomes.
    Professional Development:
    Attend professional seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay current in school counseling practices.
    Master relevant computer technology including student information systems, data analysis tools, and office software.
    Requirements / Skills

    Job Description

    Purpose
    The SENDCo has whole-school responsibility for the development, coordination, and delivery of provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities SEND.
    The role ensures the inclusion, progress, and well-being of all learners with additional needs, in line with the school’s ethos and regulatory standards.
    Key Responsibilities
    Teaching & Learning:
    Identify and adopt effective teaching approaches for SEN learners.
    Monitor classroom activities to ensure all SEN students have equitable access to learning.
    Support teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
    Model best practice in inclusive teaching.
    Assessment & Recording:
    Establish systems for identifying, assessing, and reviewing SEN provision.
    Create and monitor Individual Education Plans IEPs and provision maps.
    Maintain and update the SEN register.
    Track student progress and produce reports for teachers, parents, and leadership.
    Assist the Exams Officer in arranging additional support, time, or specific papers for SEN students during assessments.
    Leadership & Strategic Planning:
    Management
    Provide training and CPD for staff on Inclusion and SEN best practices.
    Advise school leadership on SEN policy development and strategic planning.
    Liaise with external specialists and agencies to enhance support provision.
    Lead initiatives to ensure compliance with statutory SEN requirements and safeguarding.
    Stakeholder Engagement:
    Communicate regularly with parents regarding SEN support and progress.
    Guide teachers on supporting SEN students.
    Collaborate with pastoral staff and leadership to ensure the well-being of students.
    Compliance & Safeguarding:
    Ensure all SEN practices comply with local legislation, national standards, and school policies.
    Maintain confidentiality of student information.
    Act as Designated Child Protection Co-ordinator if required.
    Qualifications & Experience
    Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related fields
    SEN-specific certification or training is highly preferred.
    3–5 years’ experience in SEN teaching/coordinating role.
    Experience preparing students for IGCSE, WAEC, or other national/international examinations.
    Knowledge of Cambridge standards and inclusive teaching methodologies.

    Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
    Proficiency in using educational technology to support teaching and learning.
    Desirable:

    We are seeking a creative and technically proficientFashion and Garment Design Teacherto lead our students through the new WAEC syllabus.
    The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the theoretical foundations of textiles and design, while providing hands-on training in pattern drafting, garment construction, and fashion entrepreneurship.
    Your goal is to ensure 100% success in the WASSCE examinations and to inspire the next generation of African fashion leaders.
    Key Responsibilities
    Curriculum Delivery: Deliver engaging lessons based on the2026 WAEC Garment Making syllabus, covering topics such as and fibers/fabrics, elements of design, and figure types.
    Technical Instruction: Provide expert hands-on training in:
    Pattern Drafting: Teaching basic bodice, skirt, sleeve, and trouser blocks.
    Sewing Techniques: Mastery of different seams, hems, openings, and fastenings.
    Garment Construction: Guiding students through the production of blouses, skirts, trousers, and gowns.

    Required Qualifications & Skills
    Education: B.Sc., B.Ed., or HND in Fashion Design, Clothing and Textiles, Home Economics, or a related field.
    Experience:  2–3 years teaching experience in a secondary school or vocational institute, with a track record of WAEC/NECO success.
    Technical Mastery: Proficiency inFreehand CuttingandPattern DraftingStandard blocks and adaptations.
    Expertise in operating industrial and domestic sewing machines.
    Knowledge of fabric properties natural vs. synthetic and garment care.
    Certification: A teaching qualification TRCN is a significant advantage.
    Soft Skills: High attention to detail, patience for teaching beginners, and strong organizational skills for managing practical assessments.
    Working Tools Familiarity:
    The candidate must be comfortable instructing students on the use of:
    Measuring and marking tools L-squares, French curves, tracing wheels.
    Cutting equipment shears, rotary cutters.
    Pressing equipment steam irons, tailor’s hams.
