    Job Description

    Responsibilities
    Lead critical maintenance activities, planned shutdowns, major overhauls, commissioning, and plant start-up activities.
    Provide technical leadership to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of electrical maintenance activities.
    Drive defect elimination and reliability improvement initiatives using Root Cause Analysis RCA.
    Provide hands-on field mentorship and structured On-the-Job Training OJT to technicians and maintenance planners.
    Support maintenance planners in developing technically complete work packs.
    Ensure correct job sequencing and switching procedures are followed.
    Support accurate spare parts and material selection for maintenance activities.
    Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules, switching procedures, permit requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
    Troubleshoot complex and recurring electrical faults and system failures.
    Perform advanced fault diagnostics, insulation testing, load analysis, and thermographic inspections.
    Ensure maintenance activities comply with IEC, IEEE, API, ANSI, NFPA 70E, and other applicable electrical standards.
    Coordinate effectively with maintenance teams by providing clear technical guidance, instructions, and accurate maintenance reports.
    Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence across electrical maintenance activities.
    General Requirements
    HND/B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
    Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in electrical maintenance within heavy industrial sectors, specifically Oil & Gas, Refineries, GTL, Petrochemical, or Chemical Plants.
    Extensive exposure to complex, high-voltage HV, medium-voltage MV, and low-voltage LV electrical systems in continuous process environments.
    Proven expertise in diagnosing and rectifying complex electrical faults and system failures.
    Deep understanding of electrical power distribution systems, switchgear AIS/GIS, MCCs, transformers, UPS, and generators.
    Strong working knowledge of protection and control systems, Variable Speed Drives VSDs, motors, and soft starters.
    Familiarity with electrical standards such as IEC, IEEE, API, NFPA 70E, and hazardous area requirements.
    Mandatory safety certifications including HSE, Permit to Work PTW, and Lockout/Tagout LOTO.
    CompEx or equivalent Hazardous Area certification is highly preferred.
    COREN or equivalent professional registration is preferred.
    OEM certifications e.g., ABB, Schneider, Siemens, GE are preferred.

    Responsibilities
    Perform and oversee the repair and maintenance of fixed equipment, including boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fired heaters, furnaces, reactors, vessels, columns, manual valves, control valves, oxygen service equipment, steam traps, heat tracing systems, and other related equipment.
    Provide hands-on field guidance during critical maintenance activities, major repairs, equipment overhauls, start-up, and commissioning activities.
    Ensure right-first-time execution of maintenance activities and compliance with approved maintenance procedures and standards.
    Serve as the Subject Matter Expert SME for fixed equipment maintenance and provide technical support to maintenance teams.
    Mentor technicians and planners on equipment fundamentals, troubleshooting methodologies, and maintenance best practices.
    Deliver structured On-the-Job Training OJT and coach personnel to strengthen technical competency.
    Work closely with maintenance planners to ensure technically complete work packs, accurate Bills of Materials BOMs, proper spare parts selection, correct job sequencing, tooling availability, and readiness for complex and high-risk maintenance activities.
    Troubleshoot complex equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime and improve reliability.
    Promote and enforce compliance with safety procedures, EGTL safety requirements, and Operational Excellence principles.
    Coordinate effectively with maintenance teams and other stakeholders by providing clear technical guidance and accurate maintenance reports.
    Participate in maintenance planning, execution, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical reviews.
    Support knowledge transfer and capability development across maintenance teams.
    General Requirements
    Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience as a Subject Matter Expert SME in industrial fixed equipment maintenance.
    Proficiency in repairing and maintaining boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, furnaces, columns, and manual/control valves.
    Demonstrated hands-on field guidance experience during critical maintenance, major repairs, overhauls, start-up, and commissioning.
    Proven ability to mentor technicians and planners on equipment fundamentals, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
    Experience in developing technically complete work packs, ensuring correct job sequencing, tooling, and accurate BOMs/spares selection.
    Possession of HND / BSc /MSc or equivalent, with certifications like ASME, API, or relevant trade certifications being advantageous.
    More than 10 years of EGTL Plant Fixed Equipment Experience may be considered in lieu of specific certifications.
    Knowledge of EGTL Specific safety orientation, Chevron safety standards, and Operational Excellence culture is essential.
    Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
    Demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of package and process boilers, fired heaters, reactors, vessels, columns, heat exchangers, oxygen service equipment, and steam traps/heat tracing.
    Proven involvement in at least five projects in a similar environment.
