Job description

To install, maintain mechanical and electrical machinery and/or equipment within the company in accordance with standard repair all operating procedures and legal requirements. 

Responsibilities

Plan preventative maintenance 
Schedule maintenance
Schedule/plan for/around breakdowns and shutdowns.
Ensure adherence to the Quality requirements.
Ensure FSSC compliance. 
Ensure HSE compliance, knowledge and understanding of the legal requirements to ensure that they are followed. 
Continuous improvement planning 
Planning and scheduling of tasks 
Establishing the mean time between failure and downtime infrastructure
Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.
Drive the KPI’s for the team members.
Mentoring the department/ maintenance team
Recommend changes in training, working practices and processes.
Providing technical expertise to the team
Put effort into the training and development of the maintenance team by:
Developing and implementing a training matrix
Developing and implementing a skills development programme
Programme identification

Qualifications & Requirements

National Diploma or BTech degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is essential.
Trade test – Mechanical/Electrical or Millwright is essential.
A certificate in FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 18001 advantageous, or in-depth working experience.
Minimum of 3 years in an artisan role, with 1 year experience in a supervisory position in a large production plant.
Expert knowledge of maintenance tasks in large production plants
Basic knowledge and understanding in Lean Manufacturing – 5 S, TPM and WCM
