RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Task Supervision
Assist the Farm Manager in coordinating and supervising daily farm production activities.
Plan and monitor tasks to ensure timely and quality completion.
Monitor and control operational costs related to tasks and inputs.
Machinery and Equipment Maintenance
Conduct routine inspections of all farm equipment and implements prior to use.
Identify and carry out basic repairs to avoid equipment failure and reduce downtime.
Adopt a preventative maintenance approach to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
Ensure correct and safe use of machinery and prevent misuse or abuse.
Labour Supervision (Fluent in Zulu is essential)
Allocate workers to specific tasks in alignment with the farm’s operational plans.
Supervise and manage both permanent and fixed-term contract employees for maximum productivity.
Monitor and maintain the quality of completed work.
Apply basic disciplinary procedures when necessary in accordance with company policy.
Foster positive and respectful relationships with all employees, promoting teamwork and motivation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Minimum: National Diploma in Agriculture
Ideal: B.Tech in Agriculture
Training:
Minimum: Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Ideal: Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Experience:
At least 2 years in a similar role such as Farm Supervisor or Junior Farm Manager
